Tapia demoted to 7th. Dude is carrying this team on his back right now and gets dropped to 7th.... WTF CHARLIE!!!???

Hopefully Springer is fully good to swing the bat and didn't lobby his way into the lineup. If his leg doesn't fall off after whiffing at the plate that will feel like a small victory.

There is A LOT of swing and miss at the top of this lineup. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, Springer and Bo get the bat on the ball.

Bo looked a lot better at the plate last night as he actually managed to work his way into a few 3 ball counts. Springer doesn't look right physically at all given how often he's been falling over at the plate, it's hard to see how this could be related to a wrist/forearm problem.

Im not optimistic tbh. He doesn’t know when to stop and heal

I know many on here, if not most, think that you should not play with the batting lineup order much. But I have always preferred a more fluid lineup, especially at the beginning of a season.

I know I will get flack for this, but I do think if a player is struggling at the plate, why not move him down or if a player is hot why not move him up. Springer's injury forced Montoyo's hand and he moved up Tapia to the leadoff spot. What happened, it unlocked something in Tapia. Who knows why....maybe it forced him take less wild swings knowing his job was to get on base, or maybe it was simply gaining confidence because of the confidence shown by the manager to hit him leadoff. But the move paid off.

Point is, simply, that I think the Jays would benefit from a more fluid lineup early. After it naturally plays out....you go back to your standard lineup for the vast majority of the season. But right now, why not move players up and down the batting lineup? It is not like the Jays offense is hitting on all cylinders and putting up a lot of runs right now.

Why can't Vladdy hit ahead of Bo right now? Why does Bo have to hit 2nd in every game? Early in the season, why not play with the batting order?

I'm guessing he's okay assuming he doesn't want to embarrass himself out there for his first game back.

Why is Smallgio playing over Zimmer?

Zimmer is 100% better in the outfield and can at least put one out once in a while. The only thing Craig Biggio's son can do better is pray that the pitcher walks him.

A lot of managers do not want to mess with what has worked in the past.

If Bo 2/Vladdy 3 got them both to all-star status last year, then that's where they'll be unless the world is crumbling down around us.

There might be statistics involved but largely its superstition. Some managers are eclectic, Charlie is not that. He's only like that with bullpen.

Playing time distribution. Also, in a few weeks you could be asking why is Zimmer playing over Biggio

Vlad said he prefers batting 3rd, barring an absolutely rock solid argument (to him) that he should move, he's not likely to.
