Stay strong brother! You too JaysAllMighty! I had testicular cancer 3 years ago.

It's crazy how they both have announced their illness within a 10 day span... you can hear Jamie's voice cackle in this clip, I'll share both in here for those that might've missed either announcement.

Brings a tear, man. Surreal, we've all got their back.

f*** - I missed that Spanky - thanks for posting. I think Jamie does a great job. Pulling for you Jamie!

Sad news about Buck. Hope he can get back in the booth again. They should add him to the level of excellence.

I don't want to post anything negative about Buck in this thread or for awhile as I wouldn't wish what he's going through on my worst enemy. But - I'm not so sure about this suggestion. He's been with the organization for a LONG time in many different roles though and there's probably a proper way to recognize him when the time comes. I'm not sure that's on the level of excellence though.

I wouldn't object if it happened. He's been with the Jays in one way or another for over 40 years, and contributed as a player, manager, and broadcaster. Like him or not (I generally find him more humorous than s***** as a broadcaster, I like a good Buck Blunder), he's contributed a LOT to the organization.

Funny thing is I have his Get Up Ball Alarm Clock, given out a few years back, I'm going to cherish it. Buck's great.

I understand that, but I think longevity and excellence are 2 different things. That said - I won't lose sleep if they do add him to the LOE. He certainly deserves some sort of recognition.

Blue Jays Central Studio could be renamed the Buck Martinez studio or something when he decides to retire. That would be fitting.

So we bumped shoulders then? Cool.

I’m sure we’ve all bumped shoulders somewhere along the line. I’ve been going to 10-20 games per year since 2011. Catching one of the Redsox games next week

Damn, that’s not a good sign. But, hope he pulls through.

I thought the same, BJH, here's a tweet from Jamie...

Yeah Jamie’s cancer is no joke, it’s pretty much terminal, just a matter of when. Sucks

Holy s***, is it that bad? I admit I'm not in the know when it comes to various forms of Leukemia but I thought the survival rate was pretty good.

I suppose it depends, like Brando posted above there's a good chance to live with it with treatment for a while, but it's not one that's cureable. You get treament off and on over the years but eventually it wins.

Good for Jamie to have such a great attitude. I'm not sure I could live that way.

I dont even know how someone could try and predict what their reaction would be to something like that. Unless youre going through it, it's one of those things you hust have very little perspective on.

My mother had kidney cancer like 25 years ago, but they caught it early enough, took out the kidney before it had a chance to spread, and nothing ever since.

My father has twice survived AML, which also has a low survival rate. A positive attitude is everything and Jamie has it.
