jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 I like how he names 2 NL teams lol. Why not say Seattle/Tampa Haha are the Montreal Expos still playing in the NL East?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Haha are the Montreal Expos still playing in the NL East? He must really favor the Jays to make the World Series. Otherwise his comment doesn’t make much sense

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Foster Griffin... Da Fuq, where's Gage? Or Pearson for that matter.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 You guys high, Merryweather was optioned, not DFA'd?

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Why Foster Griffin, If they wanted a lefty why not Gage, I thought he did ok Prolly Roster manipulation for White. If you bring up Gage and then send him down for White (Saturday's bpen start?), then Gage is ineligible for the rest of the season. This way Foster gets sent down, so Gage is still an option.

Game's are too big to worry about roster manipulation at this point. I guess the skillset is negligible.
jerb Verified Member Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Pat Malacaro @PatWGR After a leadoff walk, Nate Pearson strikes out three in a row in the top of the sixth. As impressive as the 98-99 fast ball was the breaking ball. Set up the hitters with the heater and broke off the slider for the outs. Solid. Bisons trail Roch 4-2, B6. #NextLevel #Bisons Pat Malacaro @PatWGR Make it four straight strikeouts. This time on a 99 MPH fastball. #Bisons trail 4-3, 1 out T7 with RHP Shaun Anderson taking over. #NextLevel .
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Nah. Merryweather will never pitch another game for the Bluejays.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2022 Author Posted September 22, 2022 Merryweather will never pitch another game for the Bluejays. I would be very surprised if he didn't return next spring and compete for a spot. We don't exactly have a 40 man roster crunch upcoming.

keggy Verified Member Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Pearson put on some weight. If he shows he can throw back to back games without bursting into flames they should call him up.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Look at the legs on Big Nate
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Pearson put on some weight. If he shows he can throw back to back games without bursting into flames they should call him up. He's seeing Manoah's success and modeling himself off him. Worth a shot if it helps him stay healthy.

Griffin and Gage are pretty much a wash. Griffin throws a bit harder, and he has the ability to go multiple innings. They might just wanna give him a look.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Look at the legs on Big Nate He certainly 'looks' like a starter. It will be fascinating to see where his career goes from here. Right now it's obviously in our pen as we head into the playoffs.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Are high sliders the 'new thing'? I don't think those pitches get MLB players out. Just saying.
