That would be a super weird projection to make on a 24 year old who has a ~4.7 WAR/162 pace so far in his career.

Man even in this absolute soul sucking season from Bo hes still been a slightly above league average hitter and solid to above average defender at SS (atleast according to FG) and will likely finish the year eclipsing the 3 war mark.

Yea I mean it would be but based on his trajectory so far his career has been downhill since his rookie year. 2019 wrc+ of 140, 2020-2021 wrc+ of 120, now this year 100. Of course he could bounce back to a 120 wrc+ or he could keep getting worse. Wouldn't be the first time a young stud flamed out.

Agreed. But selling him when he's raking with the bat, many disgruntled Blue Jays fan now wouldn't want that and would be begging Atkins to sign him to a $200 million extension.

Interesting to see Bo in the 7-spot. I like that Schneider isn't afraid to work things around where it might be needed. I don't dislike Kirk hitting 4th either. Hope it kickstarts the offense. Keep the line moving tonight boys.

I am delighted with this move, not many managers have the balls to do this. My belief is that lineups should be fluid and not 'set in stone based on seniority', irrespective of whether it makes a tangible difference or not.

 

Despite the analytics still permeating through Schneider (as with Montoyo), he is trying to force things along versus just waiting and hoping.

That's basically Jays world series. Removing Montoyo and Atkins.

I never blamed this season on Montoyo. I don’t think anyone did. He obviously sucked but was far from the problem. This ultimately comes down to roster construction.

It’s a really weird team. One week they look like world beaters that cannot be stopped, the next they look like a AAA team that can’t pitch, throw, catch or hit.

 

I have no problem with the firing of Montoyo, but the overall problem still exists - a complete lack of consistency on a game to game basis outside of a few guys.
