Yeah this isn't like giving Derek Fisher playing time.

Speaking of Fish, he is hitting .158/.259/.305 in AAA this year after .205/.271/.308 the year prior. woof.

What the hell happened to him. Jesus, I remember he looked very promising with the bat for a little while. Great exit velo and barrel rates IIRC

pretty sad developmental story

he must have gotten lost mentally while trying to make adjustments

or maybe an earlier than normal physical decline perhaps from the baseball hitting him in the face that time. knocked the talent right out of him

It really sucks that NONE of these LHH have panned out for the Jays. Every time they try to pick up a guy that looks like he could be the next Teo/Espinal project, they never work out.

Fisher, Travis Shaw, Rowdy (somewhat), Pelacios, Valera, Biggio (struggled), Tapia, Zimmer…. Jays haven’t had a good lefty bat in years.

He got DFA'd by the Twins today.

Corey Dickerson

In 2019 their WAR leaders were Biggio, Galvis (switch) and Sogard lolll

I guess Smoak fit the role as a switch hitter for a few seasons

But yeah if you want a LHB who was here for a few years and looked something like a middle of the order hitter.... Since Delgado left the only real options are like....

Lind, Overbay, and Rasmus?????

All those hitters listed had like 1 year of success each... would be nice if we could draft/develop a nice young LH bat. Too bad they gave up on Rowdy so soon. Hoping Biggio can be good going forward but he's not an impact bat.

I'm all in on the idea of trading one of Kirk/Moreno for a LH outfield prospect like some other were suggesting.

Biggio is probably going to be one of the biggest recipients of the "no more shift* boost in numbers next year. guy is a machine hitting grounders in the hole between 1st and 2nd.

I think that's a perception shared by all fanbase. I am sure if we followed other fanbase regularly, there will be that one or two player they believe receive more playing time than they should.

I don't like seeing Tapia getting as much playing time either, but Jays have had a tough schedule with sporadic off days. I haven't checked, but that's an impression I have. Supplement that with injuries to Teo and minor injuries to Springer, and I think it's necessitated having Tapia play as often as he has. One thing as fans looking from the outside in, is we are not privy to the day to day grind players go through, both physically and mentally. And I really think the front office is doing everything possible to try and keep Springer healthy for the season. They know he's key to their goal of the playoffs, and advancing deep into the championship series.

Zimmer usage I think has been fine. When everyone is healthy, he rarely has started and mostly used for pinch situations and defensive substitutions.

I was going to say exactly this. They have invested $150 million in George Springer and are doing everything they can to try to keep him healthy. This means playing Tapia a little more than you would normally like to see but it is likely necessary/smart.

Vlad's launch angle this season sits at 4.4 degrees, a career low...

If only it helped you pitch better. He really walked into that troll

Yeah, if only Gausman and his 2.67 ERA / 3.0 fWAR would just pitch better

lulz

Him being 5-5 is a f***ing travesty

His team mates don't help him enough.

In that game amigo. I’m not a Gausman hater. Though, I correctly may add, have been calling Manoah the ace from Day 1. Keep worshiping FIP though

He gave up 1 earned run and pitched 6 innings in that game lol

And who's worshipping FIP? I didn't even mention FIP in my post.

Also, you coming into threads with that Ace comment is you akin to LTBF when someone says something bad about Vlad, *Bo gets out to end the game again, shocker* horseshit.

James Norwood DFA’d by the Phillies.

He is 100% someone we should look to add to the back of the bullpen. Averages 97 mph on his fastball. He’s got an 89th percentile Barrell%, 87th percentile chase rate. The Phillies pitching development is an absolute trash fire, so he’s worth bringing in to see if we can unlock something. The raw tools are hard to find.

Don’t forget whip. Typically 1.5 whip isn’t a good day

Keep looking at one day of results, what's their SIERA/RE24/xFIP/BABIP, contact rates etc... stick to ERA baldilocks, it continues to label a moron a moron at least.

His stuff is good no doubt but someone else with a higher waiver wire claim spot will take him first, probably no chance he gets all the way to the Jays.

A lot of people smoke weed, stupid. He wasn't on his game but the results were still 1 earnie through 6 innings? Also the context was about Jays fans in Detroit, meat. You seem to think he walked into your troll. Which is why I responded that you're a f***ing idiot. Get it, amigo?!

Yeah, meaning with all the Jays fans in attendance you’d think it would’ve gone better. Jesus, lighten up buttercup. The internet is a place full of trolls. Where you’re free to say what comes to mind without filter

I’m a Gausman fan. Didn’t have A stuff that game, that’s all

I'm aware C-poop, and it's why I said what I did, ya baby? That game was on the offense and s*** batted ball luck, can't do much about that. He still wasn't bad, meat.

Hope he gets to pitch in Seattle then. About as close to a home Jays crowd as you get outside of the Dome.

I hate when people cry about a pitcher getting babip’d to death. Do they comment about how lucky the guy is getting when the balls are finding gloves? They don’t.
