L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Again - the Jays pay a team of experts to manage the use and health of their players. They know significantly more than any of us do and would understand if there are underlying issues we don't know about. The science and research may show that 2 days off right now is exactly what Teo needs. Maybe he's fighting something right now. Maybe Vlad is a little banged up so DH today and day off tomorrow is the way to go. Maybe Kirk will have to shoulder the majority of the catching for the next 2-4 weeks, so 2 days off right now is exactly what he needs. It isn't difficult to understand there are people with significantly more knowledge than us making these calls. Questioning them with your little to no understanding of the situation is just....dumb. I agree with you. It sucks watching some of these guys get more at bats than we’d like to see but this is one of the most forward thinking orgs and you just kinda have to trust they know exactly what they’re doing. If we like what the high performance team does in Florida then we have to understand that player usage is directly correlated.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Yeah okay, Montoyo genius me stupid is the obvious answer So you don't acknowledge or understand that it's not just Montoyo who makes these decisions? Are you just naïve?
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Holy f*** does Trevor Richards ever suck balls this year. What is up with that?
Big BlueJay Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 The pitching has given up 41 hits and 25 runs in their last 3 losses...to the short handed Twins and the last place Royals. Kikuchi started 2 of those games. Kikuchi is exactly who I expected he'd be
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Kikuchi is exactly who I expected he'd be A viable fifth starter???
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Holy f*** does Trevor Richards ever suck balls this year. What is up with that? I mean, he’s a lifetime 4.30 ERA/FIP guy. Maybe was not wise for people to lick his balls last year. Are RPs really any more volatile than hitters, idk. Like if you take a hitter in 1/4 season sample sizes, they’re probably just as volatile as RPs maybe. Anyways, he was never good in the first place.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 "Rumor" going around that Moreno is being called up. Not trusting of the source yet
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Not sure I agree with this move, unless Jano is out for some time
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Not sure I agree with this move, unless Jano is out for some time I think 15 days plus some rehab, so probably 3 weeks is the good time frame
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Can Moreno stick? I'd be surprised honestly
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 I wonder if Pearson is coming up as well
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 I thought they should just increase Kirk's reps behind the plate. Not sure how the service time clock works here but it seemed like a good idea to let him stay in AAA all season.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Can Moreno stick? Depends how he looks with the stick, but I feel this could backfire spectacularly. Unless the front office plans on moving Kirk/Jansen over Moreno. Right now Moreno is an excellent trade piece. He either plays well and his stock goes up, or he looks completely overmatched and his value plummets.

They probably feel Kirk is at a good balance between catching and DH and don't want to mess with it. Collins isn't a good defensive catcher, so Moreno makes sense in that regard as well imo
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Carrying three catchers the rest of the way could be a successful strategy. Zimmer should be done soon.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Carrying three catchers the rest of the way could be a successful strategy. Zimmer should be done soon. Nah he's a great bench option. They need to drop an RP with options.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Carrying three catchers the rest of the way could be a successful strategy. Zimmer should be done soon. With Biggio, Tapia, Gurriel, Teo, and Springer on the roster...carrying Zimmer seems a bad use of a spot. Could be the move to being Moreno up

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Exactly. He serves no purpose. I'd be shocked if he was on the roster next week. Not until the 19th, we'll see.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Nah he's a great bench option. They need to drop an RP with options. Great and Zimmer in the same sentence? 🤣 He's out soon
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Great and Zimmer in the same sentence? He's out soon lol
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Zimmer sucks Thanks for your service but see ya later
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Nah he's a great bench option. They need to drop an RP with options. With the way Chalrie uses relievers... that ain't happening.
