I'm sorry that you wasted so much time responding to something that was never said. Creating false statements and responding to them as if the other person actually said those things is an extremely cowardly way to conduct yourself.

That couldn't be more false from what I have seen. Tapia is worse than Jonathan Villar on the base paths. Very fast, but also very stupid.

Another epic fail by Grant.

Jesus Christ you're insufferable sometimes Grant. Take the L and move on.

I actually had the same perception of Tapia as Grant.

But TL’s thorough research has resulted in me realizing that I was wrong.

In my eyes both teams got what they want.

Jays shed a little salary, add a pinch runner for the Manfred man games, lefty with more upside than Grich.

Rockies add a flyball hitting slugger to take advantage of Coors.

Tapia seems pointless at Coors when he's just hitting ground balls, at least Grich can get some cheap homers. Don't see a "winner" to this trade unless Pinto turns into an actual major leaguer, pretty damn even.

At least Olerud does this in an openly trolling manner. It's fortunate that others on this forum don't have to deal with dishonest scumbags like you in real life.

No one is trolling you. You are just wrong, and people are calling you out. That's not trolling. I have no desire to ever troll you.

Trolling is when you say something correct, and people attack you anyway. Like if you said "Matt Chapman could rebound". And people were like "Your so stupid Grant. Chapman will never rebound. He will hit .150".

Man, I was so right. This was the most perfect Grant response ever.

Doubles down on opinion even in the face of refuting facts. Denies even saying the thing he said (and easily demonstated that it was said, vitrually word for word) and then a personal attack on the poster.

It checks all the boxes.

I'll give Grant credit on Tapia's defense, he really doesn't get good reads off the bat, and takes porous routes on balls, this is at least coachable. As is launch angle, etc... we'll see. The Rockie's really are a terribly run org.

Watching Gurriel in the OF doesn't make me feel that reading routes can be improves too drastically. Seems like a very instinctual skill that needs to be practiced to death if you're trying to improve there.

Yes, that's why I said it's coachable, LGJ has gotten much better for that reason, plus reps.

I think routes and route efficiency can definitely be helped to a certain degree in players that dont have the instinct, but it's probably more in line with reading where the ball is going sooner, like... seeing it off the bat and knowing where it's going sooner, rather than breaking one direction for 10 steps, then altering course because suddenly you realize it's gonna drop 20 feet in front of where youre headed.

And yeah, like you said, its more about repitition than anything else.

Devo was the absolute best at reading the ball off the bat

Yeah. He just knew where it was going instantly. And he'd run through a wall to get it if he needed to, like we saw in the Series with the Triple Play that should have been, but was blown by the umps

This is hilarious, hahaha.

Feel free to educate me, boo. I've already shown once in this thread that I'm open to changing my opinions when presented with new information.

The only one that looks bad in this exchange is you. Just take the L and move on...

Very racist underlying tones here.

Also Grant, if you need an example of trolling... look no further than the King of Kings, King.

You guys have all spent way too much of your life breaking down Tapia’s game lol. Basically like deep diving into Ryan Goins

Did anyone go to grab RG in the fantasy leagues? Too lazy to see if he’s owned. May be rosterable going forward even in 20 teams

yeah this was probably plan Z for Toronto so I doubt they are thrilled about this deal or anything

Not sure how this (partially) got turned around to a Devon White conversation but I will always jump in when it comes to Devo. One of my all time favourite Blue Jays. Just made the amazing plays look so freakin' easy. Seemed like he had the longest stride I had ever seen. 5 steps and he was wherever he needed to be.

I don’t know how a great thing like trading Randal Grichuk turned into such a dumpster fire of a thread. f*** the internet. Its a lost cause.

I mean... they added $10M and got back a kind of gross slap hitter who has been replacement level most of his career soooooo

This thread is loaded with two of the most exhausting board traits around:

1. Grant's long, drawn out argument.

2. Some paranoid fear that Montoyo is going to misuse this guy somehow.

Just say you don't like his negro blond hairstyle and be done with it.

I, for one, look forward to seeing what Tapia can do. The team hasn't had a guy like this since Rajai Davis and I enjoyed watching him play, specifically on the basepaths, even if he made some boneheaded plays on the field.

I actually have to agree with this. Grishuk doesn't exactly come off as Einstein either and I never saw many people complaining about it.

Tapia's far worse than Rajai man? And what's with you and this blond hairstyle s***, lol. Finger's pointing back at you, Dick.
