BTS Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 A team like TB that can't afford to care about PR should be all over Bauer. Neander should already be on the phone trying to get Bauer for half the 32M he's owed.

He doesn't get paid for the first 50 games next year, basically the arbitrator ruling includes a 2023 salary reduction. The 2023 salary is actually 32 x 112/162, whatever that works out to.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Yeah I guess I wouldn’t bet either way on how it will go. You’d think they’d try to squeeze something out the deal with him going somewhere else, but then there’s just cutting bait, which has its appeal to them as well I’d assume

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Interesting. It’s for the time he was put on admin leave going back to 2021. Hr got paid for it. So he’s playing that back essentially. It all wrapped up nicely. I’m sure his main goal was being able to play Opening Day. Mlb saves a little face. That’s why no appeal

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Interesting. Bauer's a douche, but I'm all for 2nd chances. Bauer as our 5th starter...who's with me...lol.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Appeal? It wasn't binding arbitration? No. Just like NFL
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Quick Google: The commissioner is also restricted by Article XI, Section A(1)( of the MLB Collective Bargaining Agreement. This section provides the commissioner with the right to overrule any disciplinary decision made by an arbitrator, and gives him the right to act as the final word on all punishment cases.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 I tried to pluck him in BORED but Dinger wasn’t playing ball. Bbdl helps even out a trade with Spank-off though Nice Indeed, was worth a shot.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Where is King? I think we’re all eager to hear him weigh in
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 In a practical sense, of course. But the bridge is torched and washing away down the river True forgot about that part tbh
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 So if the Dodgers actually end up releasing him, I wonder if that means he's getting the Bonds/Puig collusion treatment. Anyone willing to pay him the min should also be willing to pay him a couple million to secure his services via trade with LA.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Kind of feel like nobody will employ him

Ray Verified Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 There’s no major league team that’s going to deal with the media and public headache that comes with having Bauer on their roster. People have been blackballed for less.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Mets, Astros, DBacks probably the early favourites
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Mets, Astros, DBacks probably the early favourites Rangers
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Mets, Astros, DBacks probably the early favourites Why DBacks
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Rangers Probably #1 actually. Good call
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Why DBacks Just speculation he lives in Scottsdale
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 I could see the Rangers signing him. Would not be shocked if the Mets did it. Same with Rays. Would also think the Rockies and Reds might kick the tires on him. I think nobody signing him is probably the heavy favorite though. Or maybe Japan or Korea.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Just speculation he lives in Scottsdale LMAO I think Bauer's personal baggage might outweigh whatever loose geographical ties he has to the area. Just a hunch though.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Doubt that You would hope so but society always disappoints.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 You would hope so but society always disappoints. you mean business considerations
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 LMAO I think Bauer's personal baggage might outweigh whatever loose geographical ties he has to the area. Just a hunch though. But you don’t think that personal baggage is enough to stop the Rays from the biggest FA signing in team history? Okay Laika’s shadow
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 As I said before I don’t think anyone will sign him. But the Rays have signed an actual convicted rapist before. They are always on the lookout for discounts and Bauer will be signing for less than he’s worth for the rest of his career.
