Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Such and odd move for the O’s, why not just sign some s***** vet for cheaper
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Such and odd move for the O’s, why not just sign some s***** vet for cheaper They are paying 2.5 mil per year. McCaan is a pretty high character guy. How much cheaper do you want to go?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Sure, but Javier could be a legitimate SP2, which is an All-Star level talent. That could be better than what we could get Bat-wise. I was talking about Kirk, he's already an AS catcher and Silver Slugger award winner.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Author Posted December 22, 2022 O's are going to f*** that up and send an actual prospect as the PTBNL...

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Hah, it was nice to dream... As the anti-me Hurl explained, SF wouldn’t do anything to burn that bridge. Now it’s with a small-time FA like Conforto but next year it may be a big name. There was no backtracking with CC, just fell apart; no one’s fault really
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I agree with connorp here. If the Giants are the high bidder on Conforto, they're likely going to sign him. Boras isn't going to cost his client money because his feelings were hurt in the Correa negotiation.

Giants are going to look pretty dumb adding Conforto and Haniger but walking away from Correa because of health issues.

Not the ideal landing spot for Conforto to rebuild his value. Let's go get him.

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Poor Rodon. His beard was legit.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Poor Rodon. His beard was legit. Why do the Yankees have to ruin everything
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Red sign Wil Myers to a one-year deal. Hitting in that bandbox should help his numbers a bit.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Why do the Yankees have to ruin everything Such a stupid rule they have. It's not like we're talking about these guys working in an office etc. They're professional ballplayers. Let them grow their beards haha.

Let it go Yankees.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I wanna see the Yankees trade for a guy at the trade deadline some year and have that player refuse to shave.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I wanna see the Yankees trade for a guy at the trade deadline some year and have that player refuse to shave. Some funny stories around this. I lol'ed at the one below... Lou Piniella, meanwhile, once challenged the rule during spring training in Fort Lauderdale, citing that Jesus had long hair. Steinbrenner responded to this critique by pointing at a nearby swimming pool and saying, "If you can walk on water, you can wear your hair any way you want."
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I wanna see the Yankees trade for a guy at the trade deadline some year and have that player refuse to shave. I saw heard about it in the military from guys who wanted beards but were not in a unit that allowed a relaxed grooming standard. They would go get a chit from some doctor, or doctor shop until they found a chit that said that they needed the beard for medical reasons because shaving would cause an adverse reaction to their skin or they have hyper sensitive skin, etc, etc... I think that is how the rule will be broken with the Yankees. Some player will pull the medical reasons card.

Sorrow Verified Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I think I pass on Reynolds if it's Tiedemann +. I don't trust that Reynolds is more than a 3-3.5 win OF anymore.

I said this ages ago when people kept bringing up our catchers, that's the only headline offer that makes sense for the Bucs.

I agree. Also, the Blue Jays OF situation is not really that terrible. I think they will be at least as productive as 2022.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Reynolds for Tiedemann is probably fair but at some point we've got to stop signing 20M+ starting pitchers every offseason to fill rotation holes.
