Why did Fangraphs put post-season numbers in their career stats? Like even as a casual I don’t want to look at post-season stats unless I wanted to go looking for them. What was the thinking there? It doesn’t seem to align with their base, unless I’m missing something

I feel like it just changed recently, so maybe its something that they added just until the playoffs are over?? Otherwise yeah it’s annoying and I don’t get it

It’s temporary I think they switch the default view back when the playoffs are over

BTW, MLB.TV is refunding people $25 if they complain that they decided at the last minute not to show any playoff games on their service.

It's like they don't actually want people watching their sport.

Thanks for that update. That's $25 USD. Buys me a case of beer for the weekend haha.

I'm not renewing MLB TV for next season. I had to also get Sportsnet Now to watch the Blue Jays, and I'm just going to roll with that since they also show out of market games on their other channels.

How much would Sportsnet Now + the equivalent TSN service be for a full year?

I am thinking about cutting cable entirely because all I watch is sports and streaming services.

Just got a year of SN Now for $200 last week. Pretty happy with the service so far. All NHL games (except local blackouts) + MLB playoffs + Blue Jays regular season next year

I paid $169.49 (all taxes in) for Sportsnet NOW Standard. TSN Direct was more expensive - $225 (all taxes in). Both for a 12 month membership.

Sportsnet NOW is easier to use since you can download their app on your smart TV or devices. TSN Direct doesn't have an app yet which is very disappointing, so you either have to use Google Chromecast to stream from your computer nearby to your TV.

So $16.66 per month

looks like the TSN thing is the same.

$33.32 per month for live sports... seems fine.

I currently pay $72 for a Bell cable package. Literally don't do anything with it other than watch sports + the odd time watch CBC or whatever

Do you have Sportsnet NOW Premium? Only difference is you have all NHL Games?

Yeah. I think it also has live WWE PPVs too lol

Yeah even when I had cable before, would only watch live sports and the odd time something on one of the other channels. Otherwise, its a waste paying $70-80 a month for cable.

I'm not renewing my MLB TV subscription for next season since Jays games are blacked out and since I don't watch as much baseball as a I used to in order to justify it. If I were able to watch Jays games, would have still kept it.

Haha. I'm okay with just the Leafs and the odd Canadian team. Wish they would do something like that for MLB next season. If they did, I would definitely upgrade to the Premium.

It's ridiculous that none of these sports will offer the consumer a way to pay a single price for access to all of their games. MLB.TV shows less games every year. No playoffs, no Jays games, Friday games only on Apple etc... People are willing to pay to watch the games they want, but forcing them to buy cable TV is a non-starter.

I'm in the same scenario. Wife watches a bit more so trying to figure out the best approach. Might get the basic Bell package for like $21 or something and then just do TSN/Sportsnet separately.

With the rise in popularity of streaming content, MLB will be making more money by selling the rights to streaming rather than streaming it themselves.
