Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Been a lot of claims during this pandemic that have been proven to be ********.[/url] Agree, like the vaccine prevents spread or infection. I also remember people on this board people spewing a 3% plus mortality rate etc... Jim and I agree 100%, lot's of ******** floating around!
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 His fall from grace has been steep. Coming soon to Jays as a reclaimation project. Bo goes to 2b. Another thirty something infielder.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Then you'd be wrong. Most recent study puts the number at ~12.7% https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(22)01214-4/fulltext Lol, ya there was a lot of "recent studies" being done during covid as well that turned out to be bs.. I don't buy it, after reading so much s*** for 2 years. If you really think covid had long-term effects on strictly healthy people 12.7% of the time, I don't know what to tell you.

jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 So your 2% comes from your gut? Jim, I know a s*** ton of people that have had covid.. Including myself, twice. I don't know a single person today who is dealing with side-effects from it.. Not great evidence, no.. But we were literally lied to on countless occasions over the past 2 years. If you are a young & healthy person, Covid was pretty irrelevant.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Even the mods can’t help themselves to give their two cents on covid every time it comes up
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Even the mods can’t help themselves to give their two cents on covid every time it comes up Lies. I’ve never commented on Covid.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Even the mods can’t help themselves to give their two cents on covid every time it comes up I understand why when it comes to Deadpool, he's inherited a heart condition from covid, I believe.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Lies. I’ve never commented on Covid. You’re right. Some* of the mods
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 12% Virtually everybody you know has had covid. 95% of them How many people do you know with “long covid” lol I know zero I know a woman that started losing hair after Covid, took about a year for it to start thickening again. And personally I feel my breathing hasn’t been the same since having a very mild case of Covid back in Jan. Nothing extreme, but a bit of breath shortness when talking sometimes. I did have mild asthma as a kid but it hasn’t been a problem for decades until now. So yeah nothing extreme, but its not like I go around asking people if they still have Covid symptoms/problems. There could be more that I don’t know about. There’s been plenty of studies done though, that should be more than enough evidence. Im not going to pretend to know more than people that actually spend their days working on this stuff. I guess you can choose to handwave it away and think you know more than everyone else.

No. If they want to eliminate covid talk then talking about covid is a contradiction. BTS literally never talks about covid or the vaccine. He is completely neutral on the forum.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 I think majority of the population has had COVID already by now, including myself last spring. Two days of body aches/fever along with a head cold which lingered a couple of days after. I don't feel any "long COVID side effects" at all. Too be honest, I've had worse before. Keep your immune system strong, eat healthy, make sure you take Vitamin D, C and Zinc consistently, drink some scotch haha, and most people will be fine. Any new variant that comes out will continue to be weaker and weaker, which happens with any virus. The first strain that came out in 2020 was very strong and had a toll even on healthy people, but we're way past that now. Yes the virus effects everyone differently as with any other virus or illness. But we can't stop living our lives and have lockdowns every winter. Blue Jays games are full of fans now, with no masks. People are out dining at restaurants, music festivals, concerts, travelling. This is all pretty much over now. Who cares who is vaccinated or not, it doesn't make a difference! Time to move forward and live life. That's all I will speak on the subject because I'm done with it! Let enjoy the last two months of the season of Blue Jays baseball and make some noise in the Postseason! Cheers!

Captain_Obvious Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 I will state the obvious truth. Both extreme sides of the vaccine issue are stupid. Why people who are not vaccinated are stupid: 1- They should have gotten vaccinated at the beginning when COVID did not have major variants. It actually helped slow the spread of the disease back then. Had they gotten vaccinated, who knows how many lives would have been saved. 2- Their reasons and "research" are f***ing idiotic. I feel dumber every time I read "experimental gene therapy", "I know someone who got sick from the vaccine", blah blah blah. Learn some f***ing biology and statistics for the love of god. Why people harping about people not getting vaccinated are stupid: 1- At this point, the vaccines are not very effective at limiting the spread of the different variants. This means the herd immunity ship has sailed, and all vaccines do is provide much higher chance of survival from COVID. So not getting vaccinated today has little to no impact on communities. COVID will be around regardless of people getting vaccinated or not. 2- New variants cause milder disease. Hospitals are much better equipped to handle COVID patients, and are no longer over-stressed because of COVID. So not getting vaccinated, for the most part, hurts nobody except the individual choosing not to get the vaccine. Both points above indicate that getting COVID vaccines has really become a personal choice because it mostly protects the individual from severe symptoms at this point, and does not prevent mild illness or the spread of the virus to people around them.
