I’m past spiking the football on how wrong Laila was (as with most stuff) on teams calling up prospects, but it’s weird all sorts of teams like the Pirates, Tigers, and Orioles are calling up their best prospects for what seems like little benefit at the face of it… other than of course the real benefit of letting these guys play at the next level.. in any event, it’s great to see

Post of the night (some much needed hilarity in this frustrating time for Jays fans):P

If you made a team solely comprised of injured players on the Rays, they probably win a wildcard spot. The number of projected WAR is absurd:

lol... for which game? I need to hear this.

Red Sox. Just listen to the first inning. I remember it being particularly bad.

Okay, he can't be worse than Eckersley, lol.

Him and Eckersley were both on last night's crew. Eckersley is much better.

That's not saying much.

Yeah, I'm still in the bottom half, he's way out of his element. He talks and jokes like he does on Intentional Talk, doesn't work, he makes me laugh on IT, but it doesn't work during the ball game. Was he like a guest or something, I never knew he did that?

Now I'm going to watch this game to see Faedo and Winckowski pitch, haha.

Red Sox moved into third and are now just 1.5 behind the Jays.

While the panic and negativity on this board may be over-the-top (including my own), it isn't without a reason. Indians and Red Sox have both made up 6 games or so on the Jays in the last 3 weeks. Basically gone from a case where they were 6 behind Yankees but 6 in front of the last playoff spot, to 12 behind Yankees and 2 in front of last playoff spot (which is Tampa Bay now). That's a huge change in playoff implications.

I remember some posters counting on the Red Sox in April or during the offseason (Grant77 cough cough). They will be above .500 and contend for one of the WC spots. Don't kid yourself. They won't be a pushover.

I stand by my statement. The team is total s*** and won't finish in a playoff spot.

lol. He's got some weird mental issue with the Red Sox. Great organization, great team, better run-differential then the Jays, one of the best-run teams in baseball.

2 MVP candidates in their prime, then some guys with upside like Dalbec and Verdugo... not saying those guys are all that, just that they will likely improve in the second half.

Only wild card is Eovaldi and Whitlock... neither has an arm injury, if those 2 are healthy sox look very good for the second half.

Sale coming back. Rehabbing now...

This time next week they could be finishing a 3 game sweep of the Jays and could be 4 games ahead of them. Red Sox are a top-3 organization in baseball and your disrespect for them is crazy.

I do not like them, but I respect them, and have a feeling they will be making Toronto fans sad next week.

I certainly hope if the Sox do move ahead of the Jays with a sweep next week you apologize to the board, the Red Sox organization and major league baseball for your lack of respect to a great organization.

Yeah I dunno about top 3 lmao

I will give you top 10 org

I guess it depends on your time frame. My time frame is pretty long, basically since 1988 - They won the first pennant race I followed (88), beat out a very good Jays team in 1990. Beat out an exciting young Jays team for the wild card in 1998.

2013 was suppose to be the Jays year, but it was the sox year. Beat out the Jays for division in 2016 and wild card in 2021.

4 world series since 2004.

Top three are Dodgers, Yankees, and Red Sox. I guess a big part of that is the market for Dodgers and Yankees, but Red Sox don't have a insanely huge market.

Some of it is semantics, for example I don't consider Tampa Bay or Oakland great organizations because they are unable to get a stadium built and get fans to the ballpark consistently... may not be totally their fault, and they are great at team building and player development, but to me a 'great' organization also build revenue.

How do you not have Houston on there? They are a clear top 3 to me. Basically have been a model org for the last 8 years or so. Minus the whole cheating thing lmaoooooooooooo

Yeah I don't care that much about history.

If we are doing org rankings it's basically a projection for me. Which organizations will be good going forward?

History informs that of course because that's your best evidence for competency but the Red Sox just seem okay to me all things considered. Their biggest weapon is their payroll. They don't draft or develop amazingly.

Yankees, Rays, Astros, Dodgers, Giants

Cardinals, Brewers, Braves, Blue Jays, Red Sox

That's not in order. But probably my top 10, in some order. Padres close, or in there over one of the teams in the second level.

I also respect what is happening in Minnesota, Cleveland, Seattle, with the Mets, and kind of sort of Oakland (some years) and the Chicago teams. And maybe Detroit. But maybe the Tigers and White Sox suck. I dunno. Borderline s*** orgs. Cubs are weird right now too.

Everyone else sucks.
