Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Kirby Yates is made of glass and is on the 60 day That's just carrying over from last season's TJS he had as a Blue Jay. He's expected back around the second half.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Yeah. People that wanted to sign him to another 1-year deal on the cheap are nuts No, we wanted him for 2 years on the cheap, Value.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 No, we wanted him for 2 years on the cheap, Value. That’s even crazier His value is 0 if he’s injured. Negative value actually because its a waste of money
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 That’s even crazier His value is 0 if he’s injured. Negative value actually because its a waste of money His contract value would crush most of these guys signing 1 year deals in the 6-8M range, easily. There's a cheap team option for the 3rd year, as well. IMO, obviously.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 f***ing insane money for Bryant at his age, that contract is going to be a mess. Very glad the Jays opted to go the trade route.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 f***ing insane money for Bryant at his age, that contract is going to be a mess. Very glad the Jays opted to go the trade route. I had a strong feeling some team would be stupid enough to offer this type of deal to Bryant given the Boras representation. On a reasonable 4 or 5 year deal I could see some value, but for a guy who likely maxes out at 3-3.5 WAR per season this is insanity.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Joc Pederson goes for 1/6 to the Giants in actual real news broken by our friend JP Morosi. I would have loved him on our bench for that price.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I can’t decide between rox and Cincy for the stupid crown. Leaning rox at the moment but could change with the next tweet
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 It's the Rockies, I don't think it's close
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 f***ing lol this is like when they signed Ian Desmond and made him a first basemen except it's more money, so worse
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Redsox I guess? The Rays apparently had a decent offer in to Freeman also, 6/150 accoridng to the talking heads on MLB network.

Leaning rox at the moment but could change with the next tweet I give the edge to Colorado, because they have money and they're still incredibly dumb with what they do with it. That's no tto say Cinci hasn't made some dumb money moves, but their ability to be dumb is restricted by lack of money. If Cincinatti had Colorado money, it would be a tie.

Yeah, that might be what the report was alluding too when they said he had an offer that would have given him more money, but turned it down to go to SoCal.
