Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Well, we went at least 3-3 in the remaining 6 games against Tampa, pretty much what they needed to do. Now let's get a series win tomorrow to make it even better. Exactly, tomorrow is gravy. I wanted at least one win. Mission accomplished.
Kordesi Verified Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 So when are we gonna see robot umps? Well they are using ball tracker in cricket - why not introduce it for baseball. Say give batter one review every at bat?
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Something has to be done about these umps.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Holy f*** Arash let the man go and enjoy his evening. Three questions too many.
Cynical Verified Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Good to beat these cheaters. They tried to turn on whatever they do in the 8th to outhit their opponents do much but the Jays withstood it.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Trop baseball is hateful. It makes me hate baseball, that's how grotesque the Trop is.
Cynical Verified Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Very sly of West to give the Rays that first pitch ball on a pitch down the middle of the plate. Changed the entire inning from there.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 The Rays never let us off easy but great win. Let's get that win tomorrow and get the f*** out of Florida.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Something has to be done about these umps. The game and strike zone graphics and awareness for fans has changed. It’s just not acceptable for umps to so badly affect outcomes. That slider to Choi was strike 1 right down the middle. Totally changed the at bat calling it a ball. They need robo umps. Baseball has to evolve.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Does any other team go through the s*** that we do at the Trop?
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Does any other team go through the s*** that we do at the Trop? The Rays have won 93 games, so yeah. Lots of teams hate that s*** hole with no fans.
rydermike Verified Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Well they are using ball tracker in cricket - why not introduce it for baseball. Say give batter one review every at bat? Probably too much. One an inning might be doable. Or 5 a game. Tennis does 3 per set.

Now let's get a series win tomorrow to make it even better. Right, the plan was always: - hold serve against TB by winning at least 3 of the 6 - beat up on MIN + BAL all month - hurt the Yankees
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Romano needs to sort that s*** out in a hurry, he’s been pretty unremarkable lately He hasn't given up a run in his last 7. He had only given up 1 walk in his last 6....he lost his feel..or nerves got to him tonight, but we won.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 11 walks vs 2. Miracle win
Kordesi Verified Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Probably too much. One an inning might be doable. Or 5 a game. Tennis does 3 per set. Yeah you are right as it will really slow the game up.

He’s been pretty wild, even with the low walks. yes, been getting it done, but it’s never been easy
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 As frustrating as this game has been it was probably more so for the Rays, considering the free bases we gave them. A big W on a must win night. Go Jays.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 So who is starting tomorrow? Pearson? Stripling?
Buster Verified Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 So who is starting tomorrow? Pearson? Stripling? Maybe they go opener and then Strip
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 This... this wasn't good for my high blood pressure If a wildcard games goes like that you should take extra meds or something I would have been losing my ever loving mind tonight if that had been a win or go home game

A big W on a must win night. Go Jays. And once again a type of game that we usually manage to lose in the past But not always anymore What's our record in Tampa this year?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Both these games have been f***ing battles. Yesterday was almost a 9th inning comeback for the Jays, tonight was the Rays turn. Would be great to break the trop curse and win the series tomorrow!

Almost seemed like that erroneous first ball call against Choi threw off his rhythm, he was cruising before that.

I'll monitor my evening bp during this stretch
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 While the stadium itself is an embarrassment, their fans weren’t too bad. Better turnout I think than the recent game I went to in NY. There’s more Covid scaredy cats in NY I guess but still… You’d have to think if they actually had a nice stadium in actual Tampa, rather than St Pete, they might be ok. I’m sure there’s plenty of stuff with that I don’t know about though. Proposals and all that
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 So who is starting tomorrow? Pearson? Stripling? MLB site is saying Merryweather.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 I wonder what the strike zone will be like tomorrow afternoon. This has been pretty bad so far. Maybe as bad as Dan Iassogna's in the NY/Texas game the other night. He was only 80% accurate on pitches in the strike zone, and 90% on the balls outside the zone. It was garbo

jaysfaithful8 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 How many pitches can we expect out of Merryweather? 40-50? 3-4 innings?
