Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 I wish they'd get Howard Stern to ask the post game questions instead of Hazel
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Do some of you guys not getting tired of constantly bitching every game at dumb s***? Nope... we're in contention for the playoffs and the world series... enough of this Micky Mouse Manager making dumb decisions consistently.

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Gurriel to hit 6th from now on please.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Gurriel to hit 6th from now on please. I wanted to mention this earlier but Gurriel should be ahead of Kirk right now. Not that Kirk is bad but Gurriel is on a tear.
jerb Verified Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Jason Catania @JayCat11 Alek Manoah is the FIRST pitcher in Blue Jays history to throw 8+ scoreless innings and allow no more than one hit with 0 BB and 10+ Ks. He's a rookie.
43211234 Verified Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Utter dominance by Manoah. Not only did he only allow the 1 hit and 10 Ks to 0 walks, he had a 66.7% GB rate.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 His slider/slurve/whatever was absolutely creme de la creme today.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Manoah has dominated the Rays this season. His numbers against TB, NYY, and BOS combined are excellent. Big man is built to pitch in the AL East.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Peep KK's reaction. He's like "What in the f*** am i supposed to do with that but laugh?"
Acemeister79 Verified Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 A little too ironic, don't ya think? The best retort of the game, Alanis!
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 This vid is even filthier.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 man your avatar is seriously pleasant to look at. I want that as a poster. Mine? Thanos is the bomb diggity
keggy Verified Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Peep KK's reaction. He's like "What in the f*** am i supposed to do with that but laugh?" Exact look that Eric Hosmer gave to a similar pitch from Stroman when he was a rookie.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Author Posted September 14, 2021 I can't even blame Kiermaier. This pitch looked so juicy at one point: And then... oooooooooooof.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 I can't even blame Kiermaier. This pitch looked so juicy at one point: And then... oooooooooooof. Great visual. We're sitting at home wondering why guys swing at pitches in the dirt and literally a few feet before the ball hits the dirt its center cut. Some breaking balls are just nasty.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Dave Stieb sliders Great visual. We're sitting at home wondering why guys swing at pitches in the dirt and literally a few feet before the ball hits the dirt its center cut. Some breaking balls are just nasty. As Krylian mentioned, Dave Steib like stuff. Some guys just have the ability for pitches to break as they enter the hitting zone. This is elite stuff. We may be witnessing the emergence of our ace for years to come. He could be that good.

In every single one of his Ks with the slider (9 of them), the ball starts out looking like a meatball for the first half and then just disappears. His release point was pinpoint.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 And this is his rookie season! He has had a few downs mostly ups and really helped stabilize the rotation since getting the call.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Amazing start by Alek. How did Bo hit that out? Some Vlad Sr stuff there. Bats rocking. Love how they got to Yar driving the ball away. Good decision to take Manoah out. Bad decision to use Richards. What possible reason when he might be needed in games 2/3? How can Charlie piss me off even on a near perfect game vs the Rays? Great win.

I think he could add velocity too. It's not hard to imagine him getting into elite physical condition and adding one or two ticks to his fastball. He really has a complete bag of pitches: - The wicked slider, which he can throw out of the zone for whiffs or drop into the zone for called strikes - The two seamer with a lot of movement - The four seamer he can throw up in the zone for whiffs. He may even be able to manipulate this a bit and cut it? - A useable changeup I think his imposing presence and affinity for throwing up and in also gets some hitters on their heels.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 I don’t want to keep talking about my bad eyes but I honestly thought on this K and a couple others that they hit the ball in real time
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Manoah is some filthy s*** when he’s on. I was at the game last time he torched Tampa
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 What a treat it is to watch Manoah pitch. The guy's cool as a cucumber out there.
