I mean, do you really think the decision on how many games he should be suspended just coincidently ended up being time served?

It was a decision that made a lot of sense.

Seeing as it cost Bauer a s*** ton of money, i doubt he thinks it makes sense if he thinks he’s innocent.

MLB has a process and there is no real reason for them to go easy on guys like Osuna.

I wouldn’t say they went easy on him. More like they went way off the established path with Bauer.

Trevor Bauer is a 40M/year pitcher easy in this market. Even more if he goes year to year like he always said he would.

Someone will sign him, Molly Knight and Jon Heyman will give their opinion, there will be a slight increase in she/her rage on Twitter and after that it’ll be a non story outside of generating clicks.

If Marge Schott was around you know she would have taken flyer on Bauer.

With the way the panel is chosen, that seems unlikely.

I mean, this is decisions that get made it court. There’s no smoking gun proving he’s innocent. I mean, it’s a personal thing. Maybe you would fight like a dog but maybe someone else would be like f*** it, pay the civil suit. I’m crossing over the courts but it’s the same thing. Anyways, he wasn’t getting any of the playing time back. That was over. So it’s just about the money.

Right - thanks I haven't followed it that closely. But is what I said true? If they thought Bauer did nothing wrong - could they rule the MLB/Dodgers owe him his salary + damages?

i doubt MLB would have ever levied a suspension that long in the first place if there was even the most remote of possibilities it could get thrown out entirely.

Idk. Does it take a year and a half to get it before the panel typically? I don’t know, I’m asking

Yes, this is why the Dodgers were generally inactive so far this off season

I’m not sure on that.

To the previous post, its a lot of money.

If the jays think he got screwed and is innocent, then yea lets sign him. I just dont think thats likely given that suspension.

Take into account Bauer hasn’t accepted a drop of responsibility. In fact, he’s basically been calling her a liar the whole time. This isn’t a guy that just accepted the whole thing. I’m sure he wished he didn’t miss a day of baseball but it’s not the reality at hand

No doesn't typically take that long, but there was a criminal investigation. Bauer was suspended pending that outcome, and once the DA decided there was insufficient evidence to meet the threshold for a criminal conviction, then MLB levied a penalty for violating the policy. At that point is when the arbitration process would be initiated. And the process can take a while. Arbitrator selection, agreement and fee schedule, submissions by the parties (usually the claimant first, then the respondent), reply and sur-reply, oral hearings, and then the panel deliberations and decision is typical for the ones I get involved in.

Ok. But you don’t find it odd that the suspension is exactly time served? The bow isn’t a little too tight there? It’s just a tough spot and they all just wanted to put it behind them.

You can’t really say it should be a lesser suspension because she was less credible. I mean, if you acknowledge any holes/doubt in the story, why should’ve he even gotten one day suspension.

The suspension length really doesn’t say anything about his guilt. It’s just how long the process took.

Splitting the baby is pretty common. In this case, there wasn't really anything the arbitrators had to go by to justify the full suspension. Basically, Bauer violated the policy, but MLB could not substantiate the length of the suspension. Hence, a middle ground.

These women that get caught bull-s***ing should serve a sentence, it's a slap in the face of real victims. That's really frustrating.

You can't believe 3 victims are making this s*** up? Bauer will never toss another MLB inning.

This photo clearly shows she was assaulted. The victim blaming here is f***ing disgusting. Do any of you know how many victims of domestic abuse defend the men that assault them?

He's a suck f*** who likely never suits up for a MLB team again.

Be careful having a thoughtful opnion here. Somehow, 90% of the posters would rather victim blame than accept Bauer being a sexual predator who gets off on beating women.

Fortunately nobody is signing this POS.

I was talking about people that cry wolf in general. That post was was 8 months ago, man?

I can understand objecting to victim blaming but 3 people does not mean the guy is obviously guilty.

Just shows there a complete lack of objectivity on the other side

I'm pretty neutral on Bauer. I don't think he broke the law, but he bared his ass to the public by having his frowned upon kinks exposed to the public in the Me Too era. He was already a villain beforehand so this just makes him untolerable to a lot of people out there.

At this point, he's a tough sell to an MLB team which is a league that tries to fashion itself to families.

I mean people just want to understand others actions. The jury couldn’t convict Harvey Weinstein on most of his counts recently because there was like 35 emails for some of them and asking to meet after… the one he was guilty for was the one that wanted nothing to do with him afterward.

We have to give people reasonable doubt. It’s the foundation of my country at least. Tears and accusations shouldn’t bury someone, when they can come from regret or in very rare circumstances, a money grab

Again, this comes down to the jays believing that a super long suspension was basically without merit. It’s a stretch to believe that that suspension had nothing to do with what he actually did and was about perception instead.

He’s also an idiot for partaking in this s*** with chicks he doesn’t really know and obviously couldn’t trust. Even if it was 100 percent consensual he should know as a rich celebrity athlete that he’s just begging to have a lawsuit filed against him.

That's what I thought you were getting at with your last post. Definitely an idiot.

Dude's PIST!!!

Everyone should be. I'd rather baseball not be like the NFL and let this s*** fly. Do you honestly believe anyone is willing to take on the heat that will come with signing Bauer?

I could be wrong, but just don't see it happening.

Possibly, hard to tell, seems he's already been lynched by the mob.

Ok you guys here's a little holiday advice from The Sheriff for ya. Consider this my Christmas gift to the board.

I probably have more sex in a month at age 64 than you guys will in a lifetime. I'm not trying to talk s*** here I'm just stating some facts. So that probably makes me the resident "sexpert" of the board so to speak.

But anytime a lady asks you to do some weird, freaky or excessively rough stuff to her (whether it's the Cleveland Steamer, the Dirty Sanchez or even something like the Mississippi Handbag) it's either (a) a trap or (B) she's probably not the type of gal that you want to be with anyway (i.e. you're going to get the clap).

So let's all do our part where Trevor Bauer didn't and start respecting these ladies out there. They put up with enough s*** as it is.

Thanks for taking the time to listen ya'll and Merry Christmas to you and all your families.

Allegedly means f*** all after numerous women have come forward.

Happy to take on a little wager for those of you who think he's playing in 2023.
