Jim which teammates of his did you talk to that are planning on shunning him?

You understand the meaning of the word "think". It essentially means opinion.

You didn't make this point in your post. Bryant paid $2.5M to settle the civil suit and issued an apology for his actions.

Also what happened 20 years ago is different circumstances and a different time.

We will see how MLB handles this. I do think Bauer pitches in MLB again, but he will be tarnished, subject to abuse from fans, and shunned by many teammates.

I actually agree on the times have changed part. I think Kobe would be going through a different situation now. The media darling thing would help some but all the angry libs would make things tough for Coke and Nike.

As for teammates, I think the main issue would be with LAD. They’re prob set on his whole deal from the distraction he was last season and would be again. I think most clubhouses he’ll be alright in, but some teams will avoid him anyway

“But he will” doesn’t infer opinion

Yeah. We've seen first hand that this happens (Osuna, Yunel Escobar). A new team can sell the "fresh start, changed man" narrative about a new acquisition without a huge PR hit, but the team rostering a player at the time he does something wrong usually feels the need to cut ties.

The difference with Bauer is that there not only isn't any evidence he did something illegal, there might not even be evidence that he did anything immoral. There isn't really a compelling reason for the Dodgers to gift an ace to another team with no real return.

Split infinitives are no longer taboo. Gotta keep up with the times, John.

Didn't you know that the unintelligent masses could care less?

Remember that Friedman is the Dodgers GM and he once employed a convicted rapist in Josh Leuke. Times have changed but Friedman is pretty shrewd.

I think the Jays should give the Dodgers Grichuk and a solid prospect for Bauer. No way this snowflake fanbase would be able to handle that though so Bauer probably ends up in Texas instead.

Kobe Bryant was accused of rape during the peak of his career. Similar circumstances. A "fan" came on to him, they went up to his room, had supposedly consensual sex and she left all good. Then all of a sudden she accused him or rape.

Good god - I feel dumb for not being able to put that together. Even glazed over the RIP and just assumed there was someone named Koby Bryant. Not my finest moment. And yes - decent example.

Bauer unambiguously saying almost of all of the allegations were completely false.

Cringest thing I've watched in 2022. Also "shocking" he denied all ellegations... option 1) Don't deny all allegations - your life and career are f***ed 2) Deny all allegations - carry on with your life. Tough choice.

Or maybe he is innocent. I think cringy is my number one hated word used by Millennials.

He is a professional athlete (rich) and he rejected a chick who was obviously infatuated with him. Three different justice entities found the allegations unsubstantiated. We (internet *******s) don’t have 1/3 of the information/truth about the case. However, go ahead and find the guy guilty because of social media.

What specific allegations do you think it’s clear he did? The sex seems to be consensual to both casual observers, as well as people deciding if there’s a case. His version of events of how things ended each time is very believable. As for super specific things: if he says they didn’t have anal sex, I’d buy that. That’d be a bold lie if she was checked out. Why go out of your way to deny anal sex? So on that note, I’ll give him benefit of doubt on punching her in the vagina as that’s just f***ed up. That was probably her lawyer putting that in there so even a guy like me would be like wtf is wrong with his guy. As for the punching in the face, that’s the only thing that’s more murky but if she lied about all the other s***, why believe her?

Either Texas team's make sense here, but he certainly won't be free, they'll have to give up something decent.

Ya I had said Astros earlier in the offseason and that probably makes more sense than the Rangers.

Bauer

Verlander

McCullers

Garcia

Valdez

Not bad

I really hope he doesn't go there. I hate the Astros. Seems like a perfect opportunity for the Angels to add the frontline arm they desperately need.

I'm on the opposite side, I'm a big Astros fan. I love how they've grown most of their own superstars and now have been a force for the last 5+ years

Angels are a good call. They're the most pitching starved org on the planet and Bauer is from LA.

Bauer

Ohtani

Syndergaard

Sandoval

Suarez

Lorenzen

Also not bad

Oh yeah, they were in on him IIRC. A good destination for him.

Completely agree with this. I would suggest that nobody within the public should form ANY opinion about this case as you know sweet f*** all about it. You have like 10-20% of the evidence and information. This is what is wrong with the world IMO - too many people live atop Mount Stupid (dunning kruger) and spew their ******** around the internet.

BTW, I do realize and accept that's the premise of this board with a bunch of nobodies debating and opining about what the Jays should do with their team. It is rather ironic - yet I feel it's rather harmless when talking about a sports team, but incredibly damaging to our population when used for politics, court cases, etc.

I can't wait for the Sheryl Ring article!

I know these words, but I have never seen them used in this order before...

lol... incredible this guy.

It's an opinion, Spanky.

Plenty of people disliked Bauer before this incident, even more will now. Of course some of his teammates won't want anything to do with him.

Remember, a heavy majority of Dodgers said they don't want him back on the team.

I understand it's your opinion, while talking conjecture, wait and see. I like how you continue spitting out s*** from either side of your mouth, it's comical.

What do you mean, both sides of your mouth. Very little on this earth is black and white, FYI. Hence, stupid to be absolutist in your opinions.

Winning cures everything.

They'll quickly learn to embrace him if the team is doing well.

None. If he did them or not the outcome is the same. He's going to refute them all. The statement he made is worthless.

Don't get your panties in a bunch you self-righteous twats. I just said (in more words) of course he's going to deny everything (whether he did it or not).
