Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Its possible. As I understand it, right now he's on paid administrative leave and has been since he last pitched on June 28th. So he's already missed a huge number of games, while being paid his salary. So, if he get's suspended, any suspension he gets would have to retroactive to his first day of admin leave. If the Suspension is less than the games he's already missed, he just has to fork over his salary for that number of games (since they dont get paid while suspended, the money goes to wherever it goes), and he's good to play right away. Yeah, that's basically common sense, thanks. It's the team that gets hurt in all of this. Or do they have insurance set for these type of issues?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) Any of you guys see Antonio Brown of the TB Bucs yesterday, lol. WOW!!! I mean, I haven't seen a pro quit his team, halfway through a game ever??? I did something similar to our GM in the dressing room, lol. He and the MTHL gave me a year and a half suspension as I was just getting scouted, lol. Edited January 4, 2022 by Spanky99

I don't think most of them have the baggage Brown did though.

BTS Community Moderator Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Same, he deserves his day in court, if it actually really gets there. If he's guilty, he's a POS and we can all move on. One thing clear is he's an idiot for putting himself in this light. Too bad he couldn't lend some of his smarts to his life choices. The guy was/is good for baseball. Just wish he wasn't such a douchecanoe. It really is too bad that this happened. As you say, he's one of the most marketable players in the game otherwise, and loves engaging with fans on social media.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 This seems to be the part Jim has missed. I haven't missed anything. The only things I have said in this threat is his guilt or innocence depends on other victims coming forward, and the longer this goes on, the less likely he pitches in MLB again. So again, what did I miss and what is wrong with what I have posted here?

Just wish he wasn't such a douchecanoe. This isn't really a guilt or innocence situation. There isn't much doubt as to what he did. In fact, it also seems clear that she 'asked for it', based on the text messages. So, all that's left to determine is whether she's allowed to consent to those activities. The judge's decision on the matter, doesn't really sort Bauer into a POS pile or not. You already think he is, or he isn't. The verdict shouldn't change that.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) So, all that's left to determine is whether she's allowed to consent to those activities. Huh? That's completely wrong. The question is whether Bauer acted without consent. This is a he said / she said case that generally result in acquittal, so it essentially hinges on collaboration from other victims that might have come forward. It's unlikely this is Bauer's first rodeo of such actions. If you are suggesting she gave consent to be punched in the face and anally penetrated while unconscious, I haven't seen such consent anywhere. Edited January 4, 2022 by Jimcanuck

It's unlikely this is Bauer's first rodeo of such actions. There are text messages that literally say she said it. Your assumption that there are other instances is purely speculation and doesn’t hold any weight. We do know the accuser has a history of having sex with players for notoriety. Idk logic says he legally didn’t do anything wrong. Stupid yes, illegal no.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Oh yes you have, swing and a miss. Explain. Bauer was good for baseball before this happened. Now, doubtful.

Agreed for the most part, but I haven't decided anything until the facts are apparent.

Just stop.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 lol...you have him guilty, you're lying through your teeth. Just stop. No I don't. He most likely doesn't get indicted, and if he does, its very likely he is acquitted. Whether he plays MLB again depends on the facts that come out.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 That's your assumption... trial by no jury. You really need to stop making everything personal, Spank. And its not an assumption, its a fact the text messages made public to date do not give consent to anal sex while unconscious or being punched in the face.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 No I don't. He most likely doesn't get indicted, and if he does, its very likely he is acquitted. Whether he plays MLB again depends on the facts that come out. So how about we wait before your trial by Jim? lol

I said wait until it's over and everything's veiled correctly.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Did I miss the evidence that he punched her in the face and raped her anally? Is that why she went back to his house for round two? From what I understand of the complaint, the face punching and anal sex was the 2nd event, after which she sought the restraining order.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 From what I understand of the complaint, the face punching and anal sex was the 2nd event, after which she sought the restraining order. Sorry did I miss the evidence being entered or is this alleged?
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 From what I understand of the complaint, the face punching and anal sex was the 2nd event, after which she sought the restraining order. I'm like 95% sure the alleged anal rape was the first encounter, but I don't care enough to look it up.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Sorry did I miss the evidence being entered or is this alleged? A complaint by definition contains allegations, not evidence.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Spanky, when you’re willing to take a draft pick for the guy, hit me up
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 A complaint by definition contains allegations, not evidence. So we’re really not sure what happened and the entire allegation could be fabricated.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Sorry did I miss the evidence being entered or is this alleged? It's alleged at this point, I've heard nothing since, considering evidence.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 So we’re really not sure what happened and the entire allegation could be fabricated. As I said, it is unlikely he is even indicted. All depends on other women coming forward, which I stated on day 1 of this thing.
