Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Spanky, when you’re willing to take a draft pick for the guy, hit me up Hah, I put him in trade offers with your TJS boy and you were cross, lol. OT is thattaway----->
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 As I said, it is unlikely he is even indicted. All depends on other women coming forward, which I stated on day 1 of this thing. Of course it’s unlikely Jim because the entire story is littered with red flags. It is not dependent on other women coming forward. If there was sufficient evidence in this case he wouldn’t play again.
Nexii Verified Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Allegedly another woman from Ohio had a similar encounter with Bauer. Odd that it's dated August and first I had heard of it https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/report-ohio-woman-sought-protective-order-trevor-bauer/ I think he's done. Perhaps these women were out to get money but he just seems like a psycho creep beater. This stuff isn't even close to consensual BDSM

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 So we’re really not sure what happened and the entire allegation could be fabricated. Well, I mean Bauer admitted to the vast majority of it already, just that he claimed it was 100% consensual and with permission. There's a ton of text messages suggesting this was at least mostly true. The main argument seems to be when she could and could not legally give that permission and what state she was in during those times.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Spanky, when you’re willing to take a draft pick for the guy, hit me up Sent you a PM.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 The Ohio woman tried in 2017 to show police photographs of injuries to her eyes, but instead she was arrested for underage drinking, according to a police report obtained by the Post, which said the report did not indicate whether her allegations were investigated. And you wonder why women don't report crimes more often. Ridiculous.
Beans Verified Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Course he would. $$$ more than principle Bauer is totally the type to conflate money and principle.
Beans Verified Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 A lot depends on whether other women come forward with similar allegations. Apparently at least one has. If the DA thinks a pattern of abuse/violence can be established, game on (not baseball). Jim isn't an attorney, but he pontificates like one on a baseball message board forum... lol Thankfully, real attorneys are considering all the evidence, such as the text messages from the Ohio woman that were recorded in this tweet:
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Bauer is totally the type to conflate money and principle. He is, but I doubt it in this case Mr. Beans, bet a lot less on this scenario.
Beans Verified Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 What do you mean, that I bet on him? lol, I never liked the guy. Always thought he was off-putting and childish, and then when I looked into him a bit as he was emerging some years ago (in all those profile pieces on how he's a genius or whatever) he comes across as an autistic narcissist, lol But dude can pitch. And I was impressed with his approach to the craft, even if he was obnoxious about it online. I fully expect he'll pitch again in the MLB, and wouldn't be upset if he pitched for the Jays, but I wouldn't exactly be thrilled about it either. And, look, clearly the guy has issues with women (open relationships, flame wars on Twitter with random females, and now some sort of rape fantasy he either has or indulged someone else in). And clearly he is mentally ill (cluster B, maybe). But did he do anything wrong-wrong here under the law? I mean, it doesn't seem like he did... I don't know, it's tough defending someone who punches women with a boner in hand... but these accusations are not exactly organic.
Beans Verified Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 From what I understand of the complaint, the face punching and anal sex was the 2nd event, after which she sought the restraining order. Did you not read the article I quoted? In her ruling, Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman said the woman’s injuries, as depicted in photographs, were “terrible.” But the judge also said the only evidence of any injury the woman sustained while unconscious resulted from getting “hit on the butt.” The judge also said the woman was “not ambiguous about wanting rough sex in the … first encounter and wanting rougher sex in the second encounter.” Required reading for anyone who hasn't been following this since last summer: https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/story/2021-11-01/what-comes-next-trevor-bauer-dodgers-sexual-assault-case

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I missed Mr.Beans... I'm glad he's back! Surprised he is back for more humiliation. He also abandoned his teams after he turned them to s***, just disappeared, the quitter. Also, I'm not an attorney, but I do have opinions just as you do.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 I think it could go either way. Puig has been blackballed and hasn’t been convicted of anything. He’s also not close to as good as Bauer. I think successful legal action would have to be taken against Bauer for him to get the Puig treatment. Do we actually know that Bauer is still good post sticky stuff crackdown? I mean, he's VERY public about his absolute abuse of the stuff, and most of the talk about Bauer is always about how he doesn't have the natural physical gifts (of a complete machine of a pitcher, he's still better than 99+% of the non-baseball-playing population), but succeeds anyway... I dunno, considering all the noise around him (and you can put me on team "I find his Twitter account juvenile and boring") + the likelihood that he won't be nearly as good w/o the sticky stuff and I think teams would have a hard time justifying picking him up, if he ever plays again.

Anyone care enough to go through the forum search function and find a post showing otherwise? Or have we already established that Jim is a liar and him being caught contradicting past posts wouldn't be any great revelation worth outing?

Or have we already established that Jim is a liar and him being caught contradicting past posts wouldn't be any great revelation worth outing? I deal with million dollar construction claims(the largest being $20M), prepare legal briefs / affidavits for arbitrations and references, and work with lawyers on almost a daily basis on litigation matters. You are probably just confused because I fall into the quasi-legal realm.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 I’m pretty sure the guy who forced the MLB to acknowledge the use of sticky stuff didn’t do it with the understanding that he would turn into Julio Teheran. He did it to level the playing field.
King Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Sources tell me it's likely Bauer won't be playing in the MLB again.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Meh, one outlet reporting another outlets pure guesses on what might happen. Nothing new.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 My source told me he fully expects Bauer on the mound in 2022
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Gotta wonder if there is a grand jury looking at this, probable cause Given the sensitivity of the case, it would be smart to use a grand jury

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Sources tell me that I don't really care either way, but this thread is a proxy for a political fight.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 Sources tell me that I don't really care either way, but this thread is a proxy for a political fight. Bauer is a Republican. Makes sense.
