I know that Stripling is maybe a 7th or lower starter on a contending team but we need him right now as a starter. But it seems he struggles at the start of a game. Would it be worthwhile to have him come in as the second pitcher in game? He's good for 4 innings maybe 5 so they have at least 3 pitchers scheduled that day anyways!

Question is who opens against the heart of the order? It'd have to be a high leverage arm like Chatwood, Dolis, etc.

He seems fine as a #5 type, he's been considerably unlucky just by looking at his BABIP. He's also faced a healthy offense in the Yanks, Angels, Astros and Braves twice. It's about what you expect from him, unless he spins another gem like last time out and we might have something, we'll see.

If Chatwood was well rested I could see him go first followed by Stripling

Problem is later in the game you might wish you could use him

Missing Merryweather that's for sure cause he would have been ideal...

For sure. Complete faith in both of them. Dolis is an enigma. LONG innings...LOT of pitches but he has such filthy stuff it almost always works out.

Chatwood just takes care of business and goes right after them with cutter and FB. When he does get behind he doesn't seem rattled.

Yes, no doubt, our injuries make this likely a bad choice ATM, as I edited my post above, Strip has been as expected, possibly more concerning bad luck. His K/BB has been fine, also.

Any word on Merryweather BTW? I haven't heard anything in a month

Apparently he's a long way off. He's kind of made of glass, but the potential is crazy. He was moved to the 60 day when we activated Reese.

Me, an idiot: Is Richards some sort of weird nickname for the Red Sox that I don't know about?

Me, continuing to read the header and getting to (Stripling): Well, I'm an idiot.

I'm good with the Boston Richards. They're a bunch of dicks anyway!

I like Bergen as an opener for Stripling if we went that route.

True story, I started a *SUCK FARTS YANKEES Clap chant*... at the game with people from this forum... HAH! Yankee fans weren't fond especially the 2 right in front of me, some laughed. Good Times! :P

Really, his past numbers and peripherals don't pass the sniff test, I guess he's an option, but at this point I'd rather not do it altogether.
