First comment.. watching Pearson wear Trenton Thunder uniform and pinstripes just feel wrong. I understand we’re borrowing their field so there’s probably some type of agreement there, but.. yuck!

There was also broadcast and MiLB tv issues with the Trenton stream.

Also their camera angle is literally behind the catcher, terrible.

The double-A Portland Sea Dogs stream completely blows the Trenton stream out of the water, even the broadcast team. If Nate wasn’t pitching I rather watch the Fishercats.

Pearson 1st inning:

Called strike

Called strike

GB out

Pearson 2nd inning:

HBP

Strikeout swinging

Single

Strikeout swinging

1st K off a high changeup to Jarren Duran, called strike 3.

80 FB, 70 SL and he’s deliberately using his CU, that’s encouraging.

Another K for Pearson. The strike zone has been really tight for both pitchers if pitch trax is accurate. Nate has had quite a few strikes called balls and he's still steam rolling.

2nd K off a heater to Jeter Downs. Called strike inner half.

Not really locating as well as he wants on the FB but stuff is overpowering.

His delivery looks very similar to before, so not exactly sure where they are changing his mechanics. Supposedly less violent and more whippy, I don’t quite see it, maybe it’s a small change and more mental.

Holy s*** is the ump ever squeezing Pearson hard, if you believe the MiLB pitch tracker anyways.

Yeah, if its right that makes MLB umps look like the greatest of all time

Pearson has 61 pitches so far, 43 for strikes.

Pearson done...3.2 gave up a run 8Ks...left bases loaded. In his final inning he gave up a double and a single, got a K and ground out. Then walked a batter on 6 pitches. 5 of which pitch trax had as strikes. Gave up a bases loaded single on a infield single that didn't make it to the short stop. Should have got out of the 4th with another K and no runs. 78 pitches, what should have been 9 Ks in 4 innings.

He should be pitching with the Jays in 5 days.

Just catching up now. 2nd inning we get the best and worst of Nate.

Ball slips and beans Chavis squarely on the back, looked like a missed slider.

Proceeds to completely destroy Gettys with a heater on 4 pitches.

2 balls then gives up a hard base hit to Munoz to left field.

Steals the soul of Marcus Wilson on 3 pitches.

Arauz puts up a fight. Nate wild pitch throws a heater in the dirt lets runner advance to third. Proceeds to end Arauz with a devastating slider down the middle.

Very lively pitches with lots of movement. But not always able to locate, noticeably the heater is a bit too low at times.

Ump might be squeezing him, can’t really tell from camera angle. But his control was spotty on and off the first two innings. Not bad enough to draw walks, but he’s missed badly on a few pitches.

3rd inning, Ockimey had zero chance against Nate struckout on 3 pitches.

Nate brought out the curveball for Duran and Downs second time through the order. Mixed in a few sliders as well. Duran had a warning track shot but knocked down by the wind. Downs got painted with a heater on the outside corner.

Only 11 pitches in the 3rd, 10 strikes.

4th inning looks like a bit of a rollercoaster.

Wong puts up a good AB, Nate almost gives him a haircut with the heater misses badly straight over his head. Tries to finish him off a few times and finally does so with an off-speed pitch. Some really awkward swings by Connor Wong but he puts up an 8 pitch AB.

Chavez opposite field double right on the RF foul line.

Gettys groundsout to Cullen Large, almost had a infield hit but it was a good throw to Rowdy.

Still kinda cruising up until this point.

P.S. Boomer delivering snacks to home broadcast team rofl

Cole Irvin is one of the best up and coming young pitchers in the game. We could have trouble scoring tonight.

Nate almost gets out of the 4th with ease, but he tips the ball off his glove towards third base on Munoz’s batted ball. Looked like he had enough time to throw him out but didn’t make an attempt. Ball was dead between pitcher and shortstop. It was going towards Kevin Smith before Nate tipped it, s*** happens.

Looks like Nate’s on a 70-80 pitch count, he’s coming close.

Nate battles back from 3-0 count but couldn’t finish the strikeout, heater too low again. Walks Wilson, bases now loaded. Mound visit was pretty much just to let him know he’s reached his count and he gets one more batter.

Last batter Arauz, heater for strike, heater way outside saved by Graterol almost wild pitch, another ball and slider for swinging strike. Arauz puts up a battle with a couple foul balls. Gets a lucky chopper right between 3B and SS, infield single. Ball was going to Smith at SS but Large takes it away from him, fielders almost collide no throw to 1B. Classic Blue Jays left side of the infield defense, One run in not really Nate’s fault there but Arauz gets credited with RBI single with bases loaded. Nate reaches his pitch count and done for the night.
