Grichuk leaves the bases loaded while Ray allows

2 walks and then a double in the 1st inning. Time to DFA both lol.

Up to 98 on FB and 90 on the slider.

Still throwing gas and grunting his way out of the rough start.

Torkelson almost took him deep, but fouled and struckout after.

I like the way the Detroit announcer calls the game.

I've always liked solo game calling.

I think it's because they focus on calling the game and there isn't much useless banter.

Biggio apparently made a great play at 3B. He’s been impressive defensively thus far.

11 Ks thru 7 for jays pitchers but 7 walks as well. Have to clean that up.

And Luciano is having a rough spring. Too bad, he's still very young but I was hoping he'd be one of many dark horses.

Nice bounce back outing for Allgeyer though.

That's awesome. I was very skeptical of him playing 3B full time because of his arm. If he can gun the ball from 3rd without short arming it, we're in business.

With the amount of shenanigans the team went through to keep Elvis Luciano, I’m hoping he’s more than just a middle reliever. Though I want to see his performance in double-A before making any judgment calls, it’s kinda hard to pump his tires at this point.

Ray's such a polarizing pitcher. He can show flashes of #2/#1 at times.

I thought Rays's first 2 outings were pretty encouraging. First one he was dynamite. 25 strikes in 27 pitches. The second he struggled with his first couple batters giving up walks, and hung a slider to the third but he made the adjustment and got the next 7 batters in a row included 6 strike outs. He just needs to trust his stuff and keep working on throwing strikes. If his walk rate stays under 4 this year we'll be more than pleased with his year.

If Ray's BB/9 is below 4, he'll give us 3+ WAR

I'd be content if he can repeat his 2019 performance. If he can give us 5 innings of 2-3 run ball each start, that'll be more than enough to keep this team in games with our offense and bullpen.

As of now, Ross Stripling would be in the #BlueJays' rotation, Mark Shapiro told @ScottyMacThinks & @mikezigomanis on @FAN590. While it's still possible Nate Pearson builds back up from his groin strain by opening day, that's "hard to see" given current timeframes per Shapiro.

If he has a BB/9 below 4 he'll be in Cy Young talks.

Not sure I'd go that far - but there's a good chance he's an anchor in our rotation this year if the BB/9 is <4.

It would actually be ideal to have Stripling start the season in the rotation with Pearson being held back some, especially if we're in contention this season.

It would help limit his innings this season. If Pearson is pitching well and one of our top 3 pitchers it would be a bad move to move him to the bullpen in Sept, and then ask him to start in the playoffs. It could throw him off or limit the number of innings he could pitch in playoff starts.

Also gives us a chance to look at more of our guys that are on the starter/relief fence. Let them throw the first month of the season or so and replace the worst one with Pearson when he's ready. I want to see what Stripling, Roark, Matz can do starting this season. Borucki, Thornton, Kay are also in this group of guys that could be back end starters or might gain some stuff out of the pen.

Last time he did that he finished 7th in voting while missing some starts. He had a 3.9 BB/9 that season.

I'll take the field cam. I just wish I could overlay it with a radio feed of some sort so I can actually hear whats going on in the background while I work lol
