Need to get rid of the home run jacket and all of the theatrical nonsense. Total bush league - not big league. Montoyah should be ashamed of himself for allowing it. Too much joking around on this team. Charlie - get control of your team now and don’t be afraid to sit a few of your massive underachievers. This is the big league!

The home run jacket is infinitely better than the seeds were, and what a lot of other teams do. Hopefully after the season they'll auction it off for Jays Care or something.

My god I cannot believe we traded Adams for Hand, and then the one and only time we play the Nats after the trade, Adams drives the baseball straight up our asses and Brad gets his f***ing s*** pushed in.

f*** sakes Shatkins, you gotta have better judgement than that.

If Merryweather somehow miraculously gets back to the Jays, that f***ing moron Montoyo will break him within a week or two tops.

He'll pitch him in a couple of blow out games in a row, and then again when it's a close game for the third game in a row and his goddamn elbow will explode.

Yeah that one is definitely the worst trade they made this year. Hand is like the one guy I was hoping they wouldn’t trade for, his stats this season are terrible. He seems cooked. Waste of an intriguing prospect.

I know we have a decent wealth of prospects at the Catcher position in the organization but that doesn’t mean you have to give away guys for nothing. Adams could have been a side piece in a better trade.

Agreed. Maybe they could have added to Adams and gotten Kimbrel? Just a stupid trade at the time and its only looking worse as time goes by.

There was a point 6-8 weeks ago many thought this was the best positioned team in Blue Jays history. Not really a contender but a huge base of talent in majors and minors and positioned for years of success.

Instead everything has trended down in the majors and minors... It used to be every night I'd see the minor league thread bumped late at night with reports of good games by Groshans/Moreno/Martin and Martinez but hardly see it bumped at night at all anymore

What a depressing stretch in majors and minors...

1. Vlad slumps and loses shot at historic season and MVP

2. Springer injured again

3. 5th overall pick Austin Martin slumps a bit and traded.

4. Woods-Richardson who looked like a top 100 pitching prospect, has ERA double and traded

5. Orelvis Martinez who looked like a super-prospect at his highest point, shows warts and slumps at A+

6. Gabriel Moreno slow to come back from injury and may miss rest of season.

7. Return from Martin/SWR not performing at elite level

8. Angel Martinez screws our rookie picture and balloons his ERA

9. Riley Adams traded for negative WAR tire fire who has blown up 3 games

10. Jordan Groshans still not showing much power.

11. Mighty Yankees roaring and on the historic run that we thought would happen to us.

Hit the nail on the head Olerud. Baseball can be a cruel sport to follow at times.

Pearson throws a scoreless inning on Saturday and can't get in a game, because every game for the Bisons is rained out! Merryweather throws a scoreless inning for Dunedin. I suppose both could be back in a week to 10 days. If we had only taken care of business and won even 5 of 9 on this road trip.

Okay so, there was this poll for winning free tickets by guessing the record over the next 14 games starting with Washington's games. Most people picked 9-5 or 10-4. All but three of the games remaining this month are at home, where the team has played really well and a s***** BP is slightly less of an issue because the Jays bat last. The team needs to go 9-3 or 10-2 to match people's expectations. They just did 9-2 on the last homestand, against similar competition as what is coming up. Now of course some of the other teams above the Jays are going to have to start losing in order to close some of that ground.

Except this time we have 4 games against the Whitesox, a very solid team. Looking like I may win those tix with my 7-7 prediction lol. I’d love to be wrong though.

Jays are popping off 12 in a row, bud. Giving up a mere 29 runs. ;)

I feel like I'm one of the most optimistic fans going, but even I'm having my doubts. Clearly the most optimistic fan award should go to Spanky!

I noticed on Twitter Pearson hit 101 and followed that up the next pitch at 100. Another scoreless inning with 1 K. We should probably just bring him up.

Yeah no need to f*** around any longer, Pearson even with a bit of wildness would have to be more effective than the corpse of Brad Hand at this point. The bullpen desperately needs pitchers who can get outs right now.

I'm joking, that would just pop off my free ticket prediction. Though it'd be f***ing sweet, lol.

Not to mention Rowdy posting a .990 OPS since he's been on the Brewers...

12. Tellez the left handed power hitter who we thought could hit 5th for years slumps and traded to re-enforce injured bullpen (then un-slumps).

13. Biggio the walk machine who we thought could be a 4 WAR guy slumps and (sigh) might prove Kieth Law right.

Let's not throw the towel in on Biggio. Back and neck are tricky things. He's been playing hurt almost all year. He seems like the type of kid that would fight through injury or at least discomfort to stay on the field. That could have effected his performance greatly. He played like a house on fire after he came back from his first DL stint and got some rest. I need to see the kid healthy before I throw in the towel.

I haven't thrown in the towel on this season yet, they're in tough for sure. 4.5 games back of WC #2 and have to jump over three teams to get there (OAK/BOS/SEA).

But I'm just looking at the "bones" for next years team because I can't sleep, and I'm bored.

C - Kirk, Mcguire, Jansen, Moreno

1B - Vlad

2B - Biggio, Valera

3B - Espinal, Smith

SS - Bo

LF - Gurriel, Grichuk

CF - Springer

RF - Teo

DH -

SP - Ryu

SP - Berrios

SP - Manoah

SP - Stripling

SP - Hatch

SP - Pearson

RP - Romano

RP - Merryweather

RP - Mayza

RP - Cimber

RP - Richards

RP - Borucki

RP - Saucedo

RP - Castro

RP - Overton

Deep at catcher, especially if Moreno graduates at some point, and still 4 average to strong outfielders, especially if Gurriel can bounce back.

1B and SS are likely more than fine obviously

2B and 3B are obviously big question marks, but could be fine with Biggio bouncing back at a familiar position and Smith panning out. I'm not sold on Espinal as a full time guy, but he should be more than fine as a bench guy

Starting pitching looks middle of the pack on paper, but decent enough probably, certainly need to target a couple starting pitchers though, in trade or free agency (Ray & Syndergaard plz). The Berrios addition sure made next years rotation less cloudy though, with 4 solid SP's slated to return now.

Bullpen is just an unpredictable volatile collection of who knows what. Every one of those relievers could be very good but you sure would like to see an extra high leverage guy or three brought in as insurance. Imagine the psyche of this team if management doesn't bolster the pen in the off season and they start blowing games early again next year?
