Will we see Merrweather pitch another game this season?

No. He’ll be back to pitch 5 games next year before disappearing again.

Time for a lineup shake up. I'd move Bo down to the 5 spot and move everyone up and have Kirk batting 6th. Bo swings at everything. It's just who he is. Last night down 3 in the 9th and a 2 and 0 count and he swings at ball 3 that was well of the plate up and in. It's remarkable how good a hitter Bo is given how many bad pitches he swings at. I want that free swinger down in the order. He's going to come up more often with runners on and that might buy him a few more pitches over the plate where he can do some damage.

Feels like time to have Springer Semien Vlad top 3 in any order that has Vlad 2 or 3 and then Teo and Bo

Don't think so. Cursed. Such a shame as he looked so good in his short stint early this year.

Alex Reyes, widely reported, was offered to us by the Cards at the 2017 deadline for JD when he had a year left. We passed. He would be handy right about now.

That was actually Flaherty I think.

Did anyone have any luck? I got through the queue but everytime I clicked on any set of tickets it said another fan beat me to it. I tried for half an hour on like 40 different sets of tickets to multiple games and kept getting the same response

He was rumored too, but so was Reyes. Was just going through 2017 reports. Nothing confirmed who was offered by STL.

I was able to get tickets to the Indians game on Aug 2nd. But yea I did keep getting the another fan beat you to the tickets response. The lower level 60 buck tickets were the first to go, I feel like once you get in you can't be picky for those tickets, just gotta get them, the lower level behind the home plate stick around a bit longer and can be picky with those

Honestly he hasn't been very good. His K/BB is awful and he's infamously just as injury prone as anyone. He's basically 2020 Dolis: the 26 year old version. Incredible stuff with zero control of it, probably luckier than anything to avoid getting barrels. We've seen how fast the smoke an mirrors act can blow up. He just walked two with the bases loaded and blew a 5 run-lead his last appearance, xFIP at an unsightly 4.73. You don't sell him due to the prospect pedigree but he's a prime candidate for regression.

Oh my bad, I always thought it was Flaherty who the Cards dangled.

So no news on Jansen's injury or Kirk being called up?

No game today. They won't announce until tomorrow. I would be shocked if they don't announce Danny to IL and Kirk up given how hot Kirk is at the plate.

Thats fair thanks. In terms of our pen I wouldn't punt him over probable regression. I just said he would come in handy in this pen. 2017 JD was a 5 fWAR player. Not bad. Had 2 months and a year of arb left. We ended up getting in 2018 getting Merryweather.

no kirk in tonight's game. I'm guessing that's a pretty good sign he's coming up tomorrow. Ax with another 2 shut out innings 3 Ks no walks no hits. Bring up the beard along with him.

Oh, he's in NY for sure.

Of course both Boston and Tampa win late by 1 run. Cleveland gives up 2 runs in the top of the 9th...loses in 10.

Axford is still listed on Canada's baseball team roster for the Olympics. What gives?

Realistically, the Jays best shot at the playoffs is the 2nd WC. They are not catching the Red Sox or the Rays. So really, NYY and CLE losing is probably the better alternative for the Jays.

That's true but I hate Boston and Tampa so much that it pains me to see how many comeback games they have won this year usually by 1 run.

I've watched them Beat the Yankees 3 times this week just like that garbage s***** baseball last night. Frustrating. When the Yanks get healthy, plus what they add at the deadline, they'll be far better on paper than the Bosox. I don't think it's close... should be an intense stretch in the East, haha!

Boston's actual talent level is almost closer to Baltimore than it is to the other teams in the division. They are bound to crash sooner rather than later.

lol... Baltimore, c'mon? I thought that their pitching would be their demise as their offense was good. Yet here they are 6th in the f***ing league in pitching, lol. I hope your right. It's going to be a crazy deadline, and pennant race.
