I can't imagine how good we would be if we had Boston's extremely good luck. A healthy bullpen with Kirby Yates, scaryweather and Romano chomping at the bit.

Injuries to only Thornton,dolis and crapwood.....f*** , f***, f***ety, f***

Champing at the bit.

We'd be the best team in the East and on pace for 95 wins if we just averaged out the pythagorean records, let alone had any luck or a better bullpen.

Lol

Not sure why they keep giving reasons for his injuries at this point...just keep a word document that says "Merryweather injured, status unknown" and keep posting it randomly for the next few years.

Holy f***, it looks like no significant rain in the Baltimore area up until 11pm EST.

It didn't look good earlier this afternoon, looks like we got lucky.

And Bryant!

Package LGJ and Jansen+? Maybe an A and B prospect?

Yeah I think besides pitching Bryant would be best target. Biggio at 3b in an ideal playoff lineup is just not something that should ever be. Cubs gave competing a shot, Bryant built some value back even if he’s cooled.. there would prob be no love lost if they dealt him to a competing team in terms of having a chance to sign him back if they wanted

Tonight's game cancelled due to inclement weather. There must be high winds also.

Rescheduled for a double-header Sept 11....hmmmm borders could be open and might make the drive!

Seager was my early choice, but the Mariners cannot trade him when they are seeming competitive, plus Seager's vesting option is pretty expensive. But I would trade for him if they would ship us one of their best SP, too. For a a combination of four B players and prospects. How about this trade! And add a prospect or two.

Just looked as I know he’s sucking this year with bat.. pretty alarming K rate increase for a 33yo.. I’d rather play Espinal honestly over Seager

He seemed pretty decent from his fangraphs page (https://www.fangraphs.com/players/darlin-guzman/sa3005619/stats?position=OF) but his '19 was a repeat of the DSL, though he did make the Baseball America DSL All-Star team for whatever that is worth. His 2021 season is just starting at the ASL at age 20. He's probably a nobody but Hector Perez sucks and that trade cleared Perez off the 40 man so all told it was a good move.

At least Manoah/Stripling/Ray against TB is better than Matz right now.

Then again, that double-header will fall right in the middle of an Oakland-New York-Baltimore-Tampa stretch.

Apparently we received Darlin Guzman from the Reds to complete the Hector Perez deal.

169 wRC+ in rookie ball in 2019 as an 18 year old. Hasn't played this year yet. Looks like he has some power and speed?

Biggio better by every single offensive metric

While that's a nice trend, the games before May 5 count just as much as the ones after. I think most are looking for a huge defensive upgrade at 3B just as much as we'd like an offensive upgrade. Bryant's not the answer imo since we are not likely to re-sign him with Semien already being a FA too.

Damn - it was on the previous page for me, so I missed it.

I was thinking you were high AF, lol. Just busting your balls, I do it to G-snarls all the time... :P

Everyone knows that all games count, Biggio played hurt most of the first half, his numbers since coming off the IL have been the Cavan of old. TL's just posting numbers from a tweet, don't get all in a whirl because Biggio content was posted.

Also, Biggio's defense is on par with Bryant.

can Kirk and Moreno coexist long-term? I keep seeing Kirk on trade rumours or trade chips articles. Given the fact that the Jays haven't had a home-grown catcher (pretty much ever in their history), wouldn't it make more sense to have them as a C/3B/DH platoon long-term? I'd be really loath to trade one of them away given the uncertainty surrounding catching prospects, and their potential +/++ hitting at the MLB level.

Anyone disagree? The more logical play is to deal McGuire and Jansen for parts as soon as Kirk and Moreno are ready

Lol...I thought Bryant would have easily been a better defender than Biggio at 3B but I haven't watched any Cubs games so can't say anything there. It's definitely a position of upgrade we need, more so defensively.

I think the part of moving Moreno to 3B like they've been trying recently is exactly for that reason. Keep Kirk at C and use Moreno at 3B, which let's us keep both. Then one of Reese or Jansen can occupy the backup duties while the other gets traded for whatever we can get.

Well, that's what Espinal's for late in games... :P
