So great to see Eloy actually return this year AND put up numbers right away.

When he first got hurt I think the news was that he would probably miss the whole season.

Looks like Andrew Vaughn made some swing adjustments and is now also really starting to hit. White Sox will be dangerous.

Both him and Robert have come back earlier than expected.

Vlad's like Mohammed here in the Dot.

Where's that bald headed midget! lol

Trying too hard bro. I know you’re itching to get me with a zinger but at least tie it in with something relevant

Dude strikes out more and walks less than Grichuk. They gotta start calling that something (The Grichuk Ratio?).

You guys hear that A-Rod almost signed with the Red Sox to play with Manny, Ortiz, Pedro, etc.? Apparently he was taking a bit of a discount to play with them and everyone had signed the contract (Henry, Arod, etc.) except for Donald Fehr (Prez of the Players Association) who refused to sign it and talked A-Rod out of it because it looked bad for everyone else if A-Rod took a discount.

I had no idea the President of the Players Association had to sign off on FA contracts or that he had this type of power. That's f***ing insane IMO.

Agree that would be insane and I question it. I can see contracts having to be screened by the player's association for compliance with the agreement, but not an executor of the contract. Fehr probably just intervened and convinced A-Rod not to sign.

It’s the same in mlb with buyouts. They don’t want anyone messing around with the guaranteed contracts. It’s different than the NBA or NFL but always been that way

The Tigers have nearly caught LA and Cleveland in the WC standings. They might even end up in second place in the Central. They seem like a right pain in the ass.

Mmmmmm no

The Orioles must be thrilled! They can put that money towards not improving their team in any way.

Now they can sign Mullins to a 10 year mega deal!

Best part is he's still getting paid his remaining salary! Read the MLBTR post on it, I didn't realize he got the Bobby Bonilla-lite deal. Getting paid till 2037

They reworked the deal that way in agreement on his last year 23 Million owed. Nice little perk. :P

It sounds like the original deal had the deferrals in it to be being with. Deferred 6M a year from the start. Crazy.

They've rewritten that section since I first read it and added a bit more detail on his 2022 salary

however, that the $17MM owed to Davis in 2022 will now be deferred and paid out in three installments from 2023-25.
