Thanks, I have access to the channel through Bell already though.

 

Just saying though, it should be included in the MLBtv package. It would be a great way to keep fans engaged and informed on stuff outside just the team they follow. Its probably my favorite channel on TV but i’m sure the majority of baseball fans have never seen it before

I find it kind of shocking based on the product that's on the field (strikeouts galore and few BIP). It would be interesting to see the demographics on the viewership. Is it a younger generation?

 

If it's streaming numbers, then I'd imagine it means more younger people since older people are probably more likely to watch on cable. Also interesting is that ESPN Sunday Night Baseball is up significantly from last season as well, in all the key demographics (so it's not just old people).

 

Pandemic ratings were down for every sport, so it's possible this is just a correction to the mean, but the streaming numbers are definitely a sign that more people are interested in watching baseball. I have no idea what that is attributed to, but one thing that MLB has greatly improved on is their footage going viral. When something happens in a game, it's instantly on Twitter now. Previously MLB was very protective of their footage so it was harder to find baseball content on any social media platforms, but I'm guessing someone in the sport smartened up and realized that they can use Twitter, YouTube, etc, to their advantage. They are likely reaching more people now and maybe that has helped create more interest in the sport.

 

If more people are watching Three True Outcomes baseball, then that's a good sign for once they start implementing some rule changes to create more action.

Hopefully they don't screw this up with a work stoppage next season. They need to crank out a new CBA, and do it without months of s*** slinging in the media.

To make room on the active roster, outfielder Anthony Alford has been designated for assignment.

I have zero faith an agreement will be reached in time. Next season will definitely not be 162

I love this kind of stuff more than home runs sometimes. We'd have a winning record if they could consistently hit sac flies or grounders to the right side.

He has been hurt the whole time, otherwise he would have started the season with the team. It seems like they were desperately hoping to avoid a Tommy John, but they will probably bite the bullet now. They knew it would probably come to this and hence they acquired Darvish, Snell, and Musgrove.

Yup, he had the UCL strain already diagnosed, they were hoping for a Tanaka scenario.

Your post defies math and logic. Let's look at the last 3 games Toronto lost...

 

5 hits, 2 hits, 4 hits.

 

You cannot win games with less then 4 hits a game, by aiming the ball, and always scoring each of your hits. For your sac fly's and ground balls to the right side to make a difference in these games, the Jays would of had to score every hit... it doesn't happen that way.

 

This team would also have a winning record if Gurriel, Jansen, Kirk, Rowdy and Biggio were hitting at their career averages. That would be far more significant then hitting grounders and sac flies. In fact if it was possible to avoid strike outs and double play grounders to the short stop, all these guys would be hitting above .250 because they'd just aim the ball against the shift, to get a few hits and get out of their slumps.

 

Boston has scored 103 runs with 7 sacrifice flies. Toronto has scored 74 runs with 6 sacrifice flies, an above average number.

 

If Toronto added 1 more sacrifice fly they would would be tied for the league lead, go from 74 to 75 runs and still be 28 runs behind Boston. Toronto is already above average in sac flies. More sac flies won't make a difference.
