Laika Community Moderator Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Haha, that trade is disgusting. But also awesome. That's what a Randal Grichuk trade would look like - my slop for your schlopp, with some money and prospects thrown around to grease the disgusting wheels of sadness.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I don’t think the Jays should trade Grichuk, or any OF. We have no OF depth if Grich is traded and there’s an injury, and I don’t trust Rowdy Tellez and Teoscar to not suck.
Ray Verified Member Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Jays legend Elvis Andrus. Could not have won Game 5 without him.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Met's fans are going to lose it. They couldn't even pony up for Jackie Bradley Jr? Looks like Boras asked for something ridiculous. His gamble didn't pay off....where does JBJ go now?

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 JBJ is like barely above Kevin Pillar tier, why would anyone give him money.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 JBJ is like barely above Kevin Pillar tier, why would anyone give him money. He'd be fantastic as a 4-5 million dollar 4th OF Problem is he and his agent think he's an all star starting center fielder

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 AA on MLB Network Funny... he says when the Braves singed Freeman to a long term deal at age 24 he thought that was unnecessarily risky for a young pre arb position player. Now he's done it himself twice with Acuna and Albies and now it's on him to try and retain Freeman again. He says both the team and Freeman want him to finish his career there
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Yeah no fault at all on Mets passing on JBJ. More than a few here had their eye on him pre-Springer. Thank god him and Wong went elsewhere ..off-season kind of sucked for Mets but they gave an aggressive go at it. The myth of the Covid discount this year proved untrue in pretty much all the cases to-date. Also the myth of Cohen going all Monopoly money this off-season proved untrue as well but they were a legit major player, so that’s something to be pleased with going forward if you’re a Met fan. It’s good they’re not spending to spend and keeping options open for next year
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Gut feeling says a few other teams would be willing to pay Freeman more than the Braves will after this season. f*** he's been good.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Feel like JBJ might want close to the contract that Azuna got on a 4 year term. I can't begin to say how ridiculous that is for someone who is a 3rd/4th OFer. When I heard him and Wong could be our potential additions, I wanted to puke lol.

Mediocre stop gap players who wanted term. Either of them is fine in a 1Y plug while hoping Groshans and Martin supplant them in 2022, but banking on that is risky. I'm glad we opted for upside plays in Semien and Springer (don't mind the contract at all). This way you're banking on just 1 of Martin or Groshans to push their way onto the team by 2022, instead of both.

West-coast teams in FL will play 28 games and east-coast teams 24, making up rest with intrasquad-type matchups.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Good thing everyone in our lineup hits f***ing tanks. Yeah if anything this is a huge win for us. None of our hitters are hitting wall scrapers aside from Biggio and he has other positive qualities. On the other hand shitbags like Tanner Roark and whatever the rest of our rotation currently is would benefit greatly from the meatballs that they're serving not travelling as far.
