What happened to Borucki

Luck ran out? Do his pitchesook any different? Velocity still looks good.

The FO thinks they can fix his swing, worth a shot

The only way to "fix his swing" it to give him regular at bats. That means no at bats for Rowdy. You basically have to choose one or the other. Either that, or he's here to be a power bat on the bench for pinch hitting and he'll take the occasional start at DH.

I don't get why he doesn't use guys like Hatch that can go multiple innings instead of Font in the 6th here. Put him in for the 6th and 7th, then Borucki (who admittedly didn't look great there...) for the 8th and Bass for the 9th. Hell Borucki should be able to go 2 innings if he's not sucking...

Font needs to be DFA'd so Charlie won't have a choice.

Still thought his stuff was good. Just less command last few outings and word out on his slider? More guys laying off.

His BB rate was astronomical even when he was dominating. That always hinted at issues, I guess.

He gave up a weak ground ball on a 96 mile an hour fastball right on the outer edge of the strike zone. It was actually a very good pitch. The sharp single caught a bit more of the plate, but it wasn't a meatball either.

He didn't pitch bad at all really.

I think they want to use him as a pinch hitter and insurance policy for Telez this season. Worst case, try to work with him from next season onwards based on the connections he has on this team.

Nerds are not always right..this is basically an appeal to authority. Data is just that , data, to be analysed and used as a guide, it is not 100% absolute...there are times you use common sense, logic, what you see in game...

Of course they aren't right 100% of the time - neither is the eye test. It's about using the data to increase the probability of being right.

FFS - yesterday he left Roark in when the stats probably told him it was a stupid move - and guess what? Roark got f***ing LIT UP and we almost lost the game. I suspect upper management may have had a little chat with him and told him to f*** off. If not, he may just be a little gun shy himself.

I'm surprised there's so much outrage today, less than 24 hours after we were in the exact same situation and left the starter in to get lit up. There's also been a lot of outrage over using Font with inherited runners on base - claims about how he needs a clean inning like last year. We gave him that today with similar s***** results.

Armchairs everywhere boys. Advanced stats suggest Font's just been really unlucky this year also.

Look it up putz.

Just a bad time to make that statement when he was lucky to only have allowed 1 run today. He got hit hard lol.
