Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Man do I hate seeing Panik's name in the lineup...
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Please make a trade so we never see Panik again! Or fire Charlie! That would probably work as well.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Of course Vogelbach's first start comes against a lefty, against whom he's totally unplayable.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Just when I think the Orioles don't have any more pitchers I have never heard of, they start another one.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Of course Vogelbach's first start comes against a lefty, against whom he's totally unplayable. I'll be mildly surprised if he faces the starter more than once, but still an awful decision.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Please make a trade so we never see Panik again! Or fire Charlie! That would probably work as well. Panik is coming around. He actually looked like an MLB hitter in the last few games.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Of course Vogelbach's first start comes against a lefty, against whom he's totally unplayable. Just gotta wait to see the results of Montoyo’s 4D chess
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Just when I think the Orioles don't have any more pitchers I have never heard of, they start another one. (Fantasy owner disclaimer) Akin isn't necessarily as awful as some of the other names the Orioles have thrown out there. He's consistently been a high walks, high strikeouts lefty throughout his minor league career. Granted, he's an Orioles pitching "prospect" so naturally he'll be horrible.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Panik's been good the last 4 games. That's four more good games than he needed to have in order for Buntoyo to keep spoon feeding him playing time, but I'll look on the bright side.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Author Posted August 31, 2020 Of course Vogelbach's first start comes against a lefty, against whom he's totally unplayable. He might get on base!
Perfect Game Verified Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 On this day in 2015 Ed Rogers announced Mark Shapiro as President of Operations for our Toronto Blue Jays! Lets f***ing Go!!! Lets sweep the O's & never look back.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Hope this is the last day Panik is in the lineup.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Actually just had the thought that Atkins probably told Montoyo not to play Tellez today because he might be traded... kinda makes sense
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Actually just had the thought that Atkins probably told Montoyo not to play Tellez today because he might be traded... kinda makes sense Doubtful. I can't think of a seller that would even really want Tellez.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Author Posted August 31, 2020 Tellez has legit power potential but has 2 glaring weaknesses that teams exploit regularly. He will never be a competent Major Leaguer until he eliminates one of them. Either laying off the high inside fastball or stop chasing every curveball in the dirt. He might put up a 30+ homerun in everyday at-bats. But he’s never going to get on base and has little to no defensive value. Those types of guys exist everywhere in this league. Its not a skillset anyone wants.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Unfortunately the only GM who seems to value fat/slow DH's is Atkins. From Morales, to Tellez, to Vogelbach. I don't think other teams are going to be giving up any value for these types of players. If anything, the Jays should be using the DH spot to get Fisher more plate appearances, as at least he has speed/power/walks combo that is a bit more appealing.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Of course Vogelbach's first start comes against a lefty, against whom he's totally unplayable. zzzzz
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Not the best start to the game...
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Panik is coming around. He actually looked like an MLB hitter in the last few games. How has he gone from a sub 10% K rate to 24%?
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Keegan Akin looks ready for this test.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Chase looks very hittable today
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Chase looks very hittable today can you remind me of when he doesn't?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Chase looks very hittable today can you remind me of when he doesn't? He struck out the side in the first lol.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 He struck out the side in the first lol. And the second. 6 outs, 6 Ks... That's actually just bizarre.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Chase Anderson has struck out the side both times. Negative FIP and xFIP. "hittable"
