Plan Z is best: forfeit all games, demote all players to the minors to preserve any service time they can, and get the top pick in the draft next year.

Calling Buffalo a worse case scenario is true but cruel. Even a homeless team looks at Buffalo and is saying no thanks. Did Randal really need to say that? We still have our AAA team there, don't need to burn bridges as you pass by to greener pastures.

What's cruel is getting used to PNC Park for the 2020 season then having to go back to the Rogers Centre.

What amazes me is that out of all of this no one really talked about how amenities at the park for the players are part of the CBA, which was the real reason this was so difficult. Jays could have chose Buffalo and MLBPA could have filed a grievance

Looks like they changed their mind, this is f***ing s*** show, the season starts in 2 days.

What ever the "new" solution" we are def going to be at a competitive disadvantage with all the remaining options.

However, on the other hand, what is a team's motivation for doing well this year? You win the WS and there will be a BIG asterisks beside it. Owners don't get the gate associated with a WS winner, stretch run, playoffs etc. You don't get a high draft pick next year. You might burn extra years of control using players to win..

Really not much motivation this year to be a winner...

LOL what a total mess this season is.

Does that mean the Pirates can't play there as well? Or is it because we'd be playing games against the Florida based Rays?

Yeah. Seems weird to allow the Pirates but not another team with exactly the same risk factors. I wonder if some places will even allow the Jays to play their home games in the away parks, or will cite the same thing?

The Phillies play the AL/NL East, so they'll have games against the Rays and Marlins, never mind the Pirates already playing in their stadium. That quote from Levine makes no sense.

Jays might have to bite the bullet and play in Dunedin.

Based on what Hurl said, they may not be allowed to do that either due to the CBA.

Remember when the Seattle Mariners were homeless? Good times.

Maybe sharing with another AL East team would work. Can’t really say we won’t let you in, without banning all away teams as well.

Just play at the opposing teams home stadium ...so If you were supposed to host the Red Sox...you play in Fenway.. Forget about finding new spots

Because of the main facility Dunedin would easily meet the MLB Strength and Conditioning board standards and dressing room standards.

Very ironic that the Toronto Blue Jays, the team from the cleanest city of all MLB teams as far as Covid is concerned (if not the cleanest city then one of, and certainly the cleanest country) are the ones being put out by this.

Really at this point this is an MLB problem and MLB needs to solve it. I'm hopeful they are involved - maybe they are leading the efforts - but the sense we are getting is that the Toronto organization is primarily trying to problem solve this. Why is Mark Shapiro talking about plans A, B, C, D, E, and F and we are hearing diddly s*** from the commissioner? What is MLB's plan B? Just let Toronto land wherever Shapiro can get them to land?

Playing at PNC park was essentially playing the whole season on the road, I suppose.

I just hope the MLB gives up, says Jays don't play and give us the 1st overall pick.

Rock bottom for Rocker!

I just didn’t think we’d be starting the Rocking for Rocker & Losing for Leiter campaign on the last day of spring training.

I believe Shapiro said Dunedin checks off all the boxes, it just happens to be in the Covid hotspot, which is why they are not considering it. If Florida were in better shape in terms of the virus, they'd probably be in Dunedin right now.

Does anybody want us to try Camden Yards? Be honest.

There’s no guarantee Baltimore gov would allow it either. Season starts tomorrow.

I feel like there's a very good chance at this point that Maryland would ultimately follow suit to what Pennsylvania ruled.

Orioles are travelling to Florida as well. Pirates never had to go to Florida. As it comes down to it. This is Florida’s fault.

Phillies also travel to Florida for Marlins & TB this season. There’s two MLB teams in PA state.

Adding the Blue Jays isn’t a groundbreaking event for the state of Pennsylvania, to be blunt they just rather not have us. This isn’t the Pirates fault, more so the USA government flexing on Canada.

Agreed. I'm not expecting any state to approve them at this rate aside from Florida. Might have to play all the home games on the road, if even that is allowed.

The Marlins and Tampa Bay exist, and last I checked the Phillies are in Pennsylvania.
