Anyone else having issues with the board? Might just be mods but every time i try to edit a post it deletes it.

It does that (and has for a while) for me on my Pixel phone, but not my iPhone, laptops or pc.

Don't think he'll have consistent enough command to stick as a starter.

I see, so he has command issues, not that big a deal when he has a front of the rotation arm at such a young age.

I would've preferred a college arm with a little more upside like Wilcox, Cole Henry, or Ginn, but Van Eyke is a pretty good pick. He was getting some good reports to start the season. Even better if we can get him underslot and save $$$ for Martin.

Hoping we got with an upside prep player for number 3.

High spin-rate fastball with plus curveball.

Third pitch is changeup, fourth pitch slider.

I don't think the Jays could afford those guys in their budget, saving money would be optimal.

I think out of the underslot options at 42, this guy has one of the higher upsides. I’m thinking he signs @ 1.2-1.5 M which would save 300-500k for Martin.

Earlier this season, Baseball America had CJ Van Eyk mocked around late-teens to mid-20s. He’s a first round talent. And good pitch metrics for the analysts.

We can already offer Martin $6,665,415 with the 5% allowance. If we save some on Van Eyk, that'll get us to $7M. Hopefully that'll be enough to sign him.

Holy f*** the Giants' latest draft pick just got a Ryan Goins comp. Imagine being a fan and hearing that your 68th pick in the draft has Ryan Goins potential.

Finally a realistic comp for these draft picks

You shut your dirty whore mouth. Austin Martin will be *checks comp* Anthony Rendon and Mookie Betts combined!

David Calabrese is still on the board isn't he??

Keith Law had him ranked 19th overall. Might be a chance for some CanCon.

Just like last years 3rd round selection Brown

Really don't think the Jays have the budget to sign him.

What if he falls short of those projections? Can he still stick?

BA draft chat:

Mike (NYC):

Given the shortened Draft, do you expect a pitcher like CJ Van Eyk to go in the earlier rounds? I would guess under normal circumstances he is not a R1-R3 talent?

Carlos Collazo: I would expect Van Eyk in that range regardless of the circumstances. We've consistently had him as a top 50 player in this class. He's good.

O's have yet to pick someone who is going to be overslot. Maybe they really are looking to not spend as much this year in the draft.

lol
