  1. Or Vlad always saw himself as Tatis and that would've felt INSANE either of the previous two offseasons.
  2. It's very funny that people will log onto a blue jays forum, click on a blue jays draft thread, and then decide to make a post bragging about how they don't follow the draft because it's a crapshoot and waste of time. How courageous and noble!
  3. Willing to risk the board going down again for another update post.
  4. Turner turned down $13.4M in favour of a $6.7M buy out, so he simply say his market as > $6.7M. Not that he won't end up signing for more than $13.4M, but just wanted to point out his camp did not necessarily think his FA appeal would be > $13.4M when they chose to turn down the option.
  5. Tough to see Gilbert and Jones as top 50 guys when Jays could've landed them in the first round last year instead of an overslot HS arm...
  6. Anyone have the BP updated midseason top 50?
  7. Sam Shaw was 139 on Kiley's final draft rankings list, so he may be an overslot sign as a HS kid.
  8. If Nick Frasso performing well in AA for another team is your worst trade in 7+ years, then you've got a pretty solid trade history. I really hate the trade, but people are completely irrational about it. Basically every active FO has an awful trade to their name, including LAD, TB, CLE etc. And the Frasso profile is/was so volatile, given late bloomer/injury history status.
  9. When 90% the entire roster is in arbitration, the money off the books via FA departures is immediately chewed up by raises to the existing players.
  10. No he didn’t, lol. If someone reports that a player has signed with a team (with incorrect terms btw), FIVE days before that player actually signs, the report wasn’t correct. It was a guess which seemed plausible in team and term, soon before the lockout was about to start. This meant it was a good time to throw s*** against the wall given that everyone expected a lot of signings very soon at that time. Also, his profile pic is actually a former FIFA exec. Boboa isn’t a real person.
  11. Why in the world would a team do this when they could’ve traded a C level prospect for him at 1/~$18M yesterday? Ignoring the option stuff here, if he ends up making more than $18M in 2023, it’ll be because he got a base much lower than $15M with some big incentives that he reaches, imo.
  12. Does anyone actually care about how his dad is? Doesn't impact my thoughts, or anyone I knows thoughts, on him as a player.
  13. Where is statcast data for minor leaguers publicly available?
  14. Anyone have BP with access to today’s PECOTA standings release?
  15. Edward Rogers has a good relationship with Shapiro, who is critical. The FO has been given the reins to do basically what they want, backed by big resources. He's approved the continued climbing payrolls, along with the big contracts they've recently given out. Absolutely, there have been missteps/dumb moves. But what the Jays have going on right now is heavily supported by Edward, which is pretty critical for the org. If the team is sold to a non Eddie person, that could be problematic for FO continuity. That's all I really care about, letting this FO see this through and stick around for a long time.
