Laika Community Moderator Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Well based on what he told us and his track record (Laila’s), it may be wise to peruse the Vegas money lines on PM winning Exec of Year next season I’ve never been wrong
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Don't get too excited, male feminists. Cheap-ass Marlins just wanted to pay 70 cents on the dollar for equal work. Wait, she's non-white? So more like 56 cents on the dollar.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Real classy, BJMB. To be fair, some of them predate the women's suffrage movement, expectations should have been low.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Apparently the Rays may trade Kevin Kiermaier. He's owed $11.5 million in 2021, $12 million in 2022 and $13 million (or a $2.5 million buyout) in 2023.

Does Bradley Jr. even get that much money this offseason?

Laika Community Moderator Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Drew Smyly 1/$11M, the Braves 2 years older than Ray Projects a bit worse than Ray (fWAR) Was intriguing in 2020 and much better than Ray (2.56 xFIP in just 26.1 innings)
Thaddeus Malice Verified Member Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Guess they really believe in those 2020 numbers. His velocity was up this year.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I dislike AA as much as the next guy, but he's done a great job supplementing the team with short deals for impactful talent
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 That seems like a reasonable gamble for the Braves Their lack of SP depth really hurt them this year
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 That seems like a reasonable gamble for the Braves Their lack of SP depth really hurt them this year It should be a good cautionary for Toronto to not overvalue their young SP depth. Soroka - still good but unfortunate injuries happen Anderson - good Fried - good Wright - sucks Toussaint - sucks Wilson - sucks Davidson - sucks? Folty - drugs Newcomb - not sure what happened. was okay now sucks? Most of the above were well-regarded and some were very top prospects. We can't expect most of: Pearson, Kay, Hatch, Borucki, Thornton, Murphy, Murray, SWR, Manoah, etc. to be big contributors. In fact, the majority will probably give Toronto essentially nothing in terms of meaningful production.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 HOF time again. None of the 1st ballot guys should (ever) get voted in, so this seemingly opens the door for Schilling, Bonds + Clemens. I suspect Vizquel will make anther jump (even though he shouldn't). I really think they need to get their s*** together and get voting for Rolen, Manny and even Andruw Jones and Sheffield. I also have a soft spot for Billy Wagner.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Schilling is the only guy in baseball being held out of the HoF for no other reason than that the voters don't like him on a personal level. It's embarrassing for the sport.
Ray Verified Member Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Tommy John for Mike Clevinger. His second one.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Tommy John for Mike Clevinger. His second one. Poster boy for s***** mechanics catching up to you.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Poster boy for s***** mechanics catching up to you. It's the hair at fault.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Wow checking that list there's a good chance no first-timer even makes the 5% cutoff. Reasonably good chance no one gets voted in this year. But now that the pandemic has turned everyone into as much of a miserable social shut in as the average BBWAA member, they might actually stop acting like moral gremlins and use judgement of talent as their measuring stick for hall worthiness.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Tommy John for Mike Clevinger. His second one. Padres worked out a deal with him 11.5M over 2 years with most of it paid in 2022

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 It's the hair at fault. New pitcher hair power rankings 1. May 2. Syndergaard 3. deGrom 4. Clevinger

Outrage mobs haven't turned on them yet though.
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Folty is on drugs? Or you just saying that because he looks like he's on drugs? Just saying. He looked like a crack head this year.

I don't know if you saw this, but a Washington State school district just revealed an equity study which now groups Asians WITH "white people" in an obvious attempt to inflame the supposed gap LMAO. So if there's anyone on here who is Asian...congrats guys, you're now "white".
