Kinda sounds like cancer or something similar. He had surgery for something that was making him feel ill, and it's non-baseball related.

Yeah, certainly not good. I wish him well.

Yeah, he's really the only guy that was exciting from the Black Birds. I really hope it isn't anything like that.

lol... damn she's so hot!

That clears up so many questions, I always suspected somehow that A-rod was a closet cross dresser.

Believe it or not but Boston is a flagship franchise for MLB and most players would jump at the chance to play for them.

While Boston is certainly one of the premier franchises, there is still enough drama from the media and fanbase that you need to develop really thick skin in a hurry to play and succeed there. Look no further than David Price to see how quickly things turn sour, guy gets hurt and suddenly the media starts smearing him constantly and fans can't wait to ship him out of town. It makes me wonder if this is something that scares guys off from signing there, or makes the Red Sox really open up the vault to get guys to sign anyway.

Two hours with Scott Boras: Baseball's No. 1 agent...

"Boras, 67, is uniquely suited for his job, a line-drive hitter who reached Double A and earned both a law degree and a doctorate in pharmacy. To fit in with his minor-league teammates during long bus rides, he would cover the shell of his textbooks with a nudie mag."

They try to humanize him here, but Boras still comes across as sub-human.

Lol. That's great! That's the first time I've heard of someone covering educational books with playboys. Usually it's the other way around!

Boras rules. Think of all the extra millions he's gotten for players by squeezing penny-pinching billionaires who get public funding for their stadiums.

"If Major League Baseball can’t play in front of fans at a team’s home ballpark because of the virus outbreak, the sport’s first preference likely would be to switch games to the visiting team’s stadium if possible, a person familiar with the deliberations told The Associated Press."

Damn why didn't this hysteria happen in November so the NFL could get hurt by it? Baseball and basketball are my two sports, and they have to suffer for this s***.

In all seriousness, I think March/April games are going to end up in empty stadiums. Good on MLB for trying to work around it and I hope they succeed, but doubt they can avoid it completely.

NBA just indefinitely suspended its season due to a player testing positive.

I don't know about indefinitely... it's being reported that tomorrow they'll announce their decision on whether to play in empty arenas or cancel the rest of the season and go into the playoffs in 6 weeks.

Anyone have any idea what this non-base ball related illness/injury is that Trey Mancini has? I haven't even seen speculation, they are keeping it pretty tight-lipped.

Anyone have some gossip? Trying to determine how serious/time-away etc it is?

Thanks

Every year in the NBA should just play half a season and only let the 3 or 4 teams with an actual chance to win the title play in the playoffs. Outcome would be the same. JS

Tommy John for Chris Sale.

It finally happened. All those years of people calling out his frame and pitching mechanics and finally they got it right. With how long he lasted though you'd think the injury is less about those things and more about him just being a pitcher in general.
