It may not look that way because our entire team is underperforming, but that is genuinely not that bad of a lineup. Like at least average, although Drury in the 5th slot is not the best.

Ugg, and just when his LF numbers were starting to look better too...

 

Though, when we acquired him, there were lots of reports that he could play CF (I have no idea why anyone thought that, 'cause I mean, we all saw last year, but they were out there...)

A lot of teams are throwing Corner Infielders and First Baseman in CF. I am sure Teo can do it! /green

This cant be just about Tanking. Jonathan Davis didn't hit at all, Hernandez definitely hits some.

 

This is just about Atkins not being in the right state of mind to be an MLB GM. Shapiro is caring less and less these days, and Atkins is driving things into the ground.

 

How do our pitchers feel about this, knowing that a routine fly ball could easily be a double, since Hernandez's inability to get to the ball wont count as errors. Really a slap in the face to the pitching staff

 

If we are going to tank, at least put in a defensive lineup, so that the pitchers numbers can be protected for trade deadline.

Coming back to where it all began ...

 

When BBBB said of all the Fields , CF is the easiest to play !

 

And then the Fight to defend myself from attacks and the Bans started !!!

 

Truest Flight of the Ball if you have average

To above average speed , easy to track down

Too !!!

 

This by Atkins might work better then Extending Grrrr for 5 years ! Lol

Teo played CF in the Stros org.

 

Yeah I think most of his Milb games were in centre too, just wondering what would account for him all of a sudden being the primary CF? Did something happen in Buffalo which made the lightbulb come on?

His numbers (and the eye test) showed that he improved substantially in LF this season, they don't really report much in the way of defensive numbers in the minors so it's really hard to say, but he played 9 games in CF (2 errors) and 5 in LF (0 errors) while he was down.

Moving positions is a ghost tool, how well he transitions quickly is the question.

I think this is more about the team preferring Gurriel in LF (has looked really good there so far) and Grichuk in RF (mediocre ability to play CF to above average in RF). So there you go, CF is open: have at it Teo. If he makes out ok, then great will have some more roster versatility Either way, they will need to find a long term solution moving forward.

Makes sense. Lets see if Alford can make an impression in AAA and force their hand. Nothing wrong with competition.
