Laika Community Moderator Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Willians Astudillo's final spring numbers: 51 plate appearances 15 hits 2 home runs no strikeouts no walks
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Willians Astudillo's final spring numbers: 51 plate appearances 15 hits 2 home runs no strikeouts no walks He’s the most interesting fringe player in the league to me right now. Obese catcher-turned-super-utility player who strikes out and walks at, like, a 4% clip and has great hair. Has this description ever fit an MLB player?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 I drafted Jose Ramirez 4th overall this AM in my redraft... ouch They're saying day to day with a knee contusion, x-rays came back clean, I'm really hoping he dodges a bullet here.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Dan Straily was DFA'd by the Marlins. Seems a little surprising.

Steamer has him projected for 1 WAR in 50 games. He is pretty fun though, his baserunning is hilarious. I've never seen someone fat run that fast.

Cut his hair and plop him in LF and *bam* it's Tony Gwynn

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Bring me Daniel Straily IMMEDIATELY. I find your long-running obsession with him to be disturbing.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Straily actually seems like a Shatkins type of move.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 lol I wish more players would answer stupid questions that way.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Straily actually seems like a Shatkins type of move. He would be better than Richards IMO and at least gives the Jays some respectable depth if they lose someone like Shoemaker, Sanchez or Buchholz to injury for an extended period, which is likely to happen.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 speaking of Buchholz - what is the story with him? I'll assume he's hurt, but I haven't heard much lately.
