However I can't recall ever seeing a trade like that. For example a "Stroman + X for Tucker" type trade never happens.

... However that type of trade never happens.

It has happened, rarely. Addison Russell for example

JPA is blowing up his ex wife on social media. Kind of funny?

Definitely funny. Especially where he accuses her of trying to save a dying career.

Like, look in a f***ing mirror, bud.

There's a point where you have a better chance of getting elite talent out of quantity. For example, 3 players with a 10% chance of being elite over 1 player with a 25% chance. We shoulf be open to any kind of deal.

Err... sometimes.

Would you rather have Nate Pearson or Sean Reid-Foley + Hector Perez + David Paulino?

What about Bo Bichette or Kevin Smith + Riley Adams + Juan De Paula?

Not the perfect examples, but baseball is very imbalanced. Sometimes one player can far outperform trajections of 3 players combined.

What have you guys actually watching the games thought of Vladdy's defense? Metrics are starting to paint a rough picture, especially UZR.

It's the obvious really. He's fat and it affects his mobility. He's garbage at picking up balls near his feet or plays where he's coming in on a ball because he's tripping over himself all the time, and that's a factor of his weight. The arm is an easy plus, and he looks like he has the talent/ability and instincts to be average there, but as it currently stands he's going to continue to be a liability out there as long as he's out of shape.

So basically he's looked about how we all expected: great arm and decent hands/instincts, but severe mobility issues that will likely make him unable to stick at the position unless he improves his body.

He's not fat, he's chunky and he has his dad's body type. Although, Vladdy Sr. even with his monster thighs was never this big.

OK, but have you seen his ass?

Vladdy makes most of the routine plays, some spectacular plays, and then botches some stuff here and there. I think his inexperience is just as much to blame as his physique at this point, and he probably can be an average to slightly below average 3B overall for the next few years, which is completely fine if he brings the bat we all know he will bring. I keep him at 3B as long as possible if I'm the Jays.

Yeah you'd have to think he will improve but that said he's going to have to in order to be passable there. If we were contending he'd be barely playable there right now.

Bichette isn't on the 40 man. Maybe dump E Jax?

More likely Alford is coming up.

I believe Alford is still hurt. Hasn't played since June 23.
