Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 And we somehow couldn’t even make a 25 man roster spot for him? Dwight Smith Jr. is not better than anyone in our outfield, 16 PAs be damned.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 I think he is better then McKinney for sure, Pillar or Mirage maybe, Grichuk no. Lol @ DSJ being better than McKinney for sure. He probably doesn't have a single tool which is superior, and there's a two year age gap. DSJ is a very mediocre player.

DSJ has carried better BB and K rates for some time, and better defensively than McKinney. Not enough of a clear gap between the two of them to call one better than the other, as Tercet did.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 I wouldn’t jeopardize McKinney’s playing time to add DSJ, but Pillar I think should’ve been gone already. Let’s be real, there’s no chance he’s here for the next competitive window and he’s already in decline. I’m not completely sold on Teoscar and think Teo/DSJ/McKinney could’ve timeshared LF/RF/DH while Grichuk move to CF if Pillar was moved. Either way debating now is pointless since Atkins already decided to move on from DSJ but it’s clear our offense is anemic to start the season and could use some help.

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 I just realized our active rosters payroll was 56 million, third lowest in the league. Any ideas what big name free agents the FO is likely to pursue in the next couple years ?

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Guys I’d throw money at: Anthony Rendon Gerrit Cole Adam Eaton Nicholas Castellanos Marcell Ozuna Quite a few interesting RP’s too. Jays will probably end up with Nick Markakis and Kyle Gibson next year though.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Is that you Buck? No it’s not, but this is exactly why he would be a target. He’s quietly become a great hitter and probably doesn’t take a boatload of cash to lock up. Rotate him through 1B/OF/DH
