They should have put Schwarber in there with the bases loaded instead of Heyward. That was the bigger mistake.

 

Definitely looking more and more like Maddon was a product of the Rays org, not the other way around. He made a bunch of mistakes when the Cubs won the WS too.

How much can we put some of Maddon's odd decisions on Epstien/Hoyer? We all praised Gibby's ability to adapt to a new front office and to the way they wanted to play the game (using analytics more). Is Maddon following direction - or is he so high and well respected that we think he's 100% calling the shots?
