Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I listened to this earlier while I went for a walk, and while at the moment I don't recall what I found funny, I know it definitely was at times because I was like oh great, I'm the crazy person randomly laughing to herself while alone. But yeah, I thought it was pretty good, especially considering it was only the first episode. Same lol, I was listening to it on my lunch break and I had to stop it at a couple of points because I was dying and it probably looked so weird.

I didn't think it was THAT funny but if you liked that, just wait for our new ending segment where we take turns ranting about something random.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 This was highly entertaining. Good job fellas. Looking forward to the next one!

It's not necessarily that the content was flat out funny, but hearing the inside jokes being said aloud was just something that I found amusing, as well as hearing people's personalities from the board on the air.

Yeah, I think that's why it worked so well; they already have that natural rapport with each other.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 I plan to turn Justin Upton upside and "his trackman readouts are insane" into widespread memes.
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I plan to turn Justin Upton upside and "his trackman readouts are insane" into widespread memes. It's NUTS
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 It's NUTS Have you followed up with Eric regarding Cooper yet?
Littlemoon Verified Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Ok I'm a little lost at who is who but... There's no Asian man talking! I've been lied all this long!
Littlemoon Verified Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 BTW, no matter your denials about the accent, you guys defo say aboot instead of about. The videos on YouTube didn't lie

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 BTW, no matter your denials about the accent, you guys defo say aboot instead of about. The videos on YouTube didn't lie I'd say it's closer to aboat than anything.

The videos on YouTube didn't lie False. We say abowdt. Absolutely no Canadian I have ever met says a-boot except when parodying an American trying to sound Canadian.
Littlemoon Verified Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I think it's because I'm foreign and so it sounds closer to aboot to me than that
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 False. We say abowdt. Absolutely no Canadian I have ever met says a-boot except when parodying an American trying to sound Canadian. This is a decent explanation of what other people hear sometimes. The stereotype is complete nonsense and we are clearly not saying 'aboot', but it is different

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Loved the podcast. I listen to podcasts everyday, and will definitely continue to listen to this one.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 For all you guys sad that we teased s***ing on Orioles Hangout, fear not. We are planning a feature piece on RLCRF, Emmy award winner.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 (edited) I just got around to listening to the pilot, pretty enjoyable overall, and I'll be looking forward to the next episode. Now for some criticism. The intro felt unprepared and hurried, stating the date and maybe a quick overview of the topics to be discussed would be a good start for improvement. The exit was very abrupt and lacked a feeling of closure, but I'm sure with time and repetition this will improve. Boxy, you did well leading the podcast, although you should probably try not talk over the other guests mid sentence, it can damage the flow of the conversations. And the audio volume seemed to annoyingly fluctuate every 15 or 20 seconds, what were you using? Ventrillo? Flow could be improved from topic to topic but considering this was the maiden voyage, it was alot better than I was expecting. You all sound like a bunch of baseball birds with to much daily intake of soy, but take solace in the fact that I'd much rather listen to you guys over the likes of Kevin Barker and Jeff Blair. Overall solid stuff, it has a bit of "Good Show" vibe to it, which is a really positive thing. Keep churning it out, you can never have too much baseball chatter. P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 We had various audio issues in this particular episode, rendering a lot of the content unusable. The unedited version is hilarious, though.

We are planning a feature piece on RLCRF, Emmy award winner. If you can get Weems or RLCRF to get on you'll be my hero forever. Will listen in a bit, seriously looking forward to it. I can't wait for you to make it big and your ugly mugs have to appear on TV. I have the Video Killed the Radio Scouts parody song ready.

B- (for Boxy's love of letter grades) Thank you very much for the criticism. I have personally noticed I do that too much, and I'll try to improve. I don't mean to cut people off but I have an annoying habit of interjecting in conversation whenever a relevant thought crosses my mind. I have a real problem with doing intros. I'm usually nervous as hell until like 10 minutes in. I would like a proper intro with music and stuff and an outro too.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Maahface with a considered review? Do I have to un-IL maaface?
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Maahface with a considered review? Do I have to un-IL maaface? Maahface has been a quality LoD member for like two years now. I don't see whay you'd have him on the IL.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Best moment "why do you hate everything?"
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Best moment "why do you hate everything?" It's an important question to ask.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Best moment "why do you hate everything?" That was the best moment. Especially with Boxy being the one who asked.

Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Maahface with a considered review? Do I have to un-IL maaface? Haha not sure what I did to make your IL list, you probably just hate tall white dutch people.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 My only suggestions would be to provide a little more context. P2F did this a few times. Also a mention that you guys don't actually know each other personally would provide context and promote the board. Overall I thought it thought you did an excellent job.
