Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 He's just going to say that it's the Marlins, which to be fair it's true. But 10 strikeouts is 10 strikeouts, and only one walk, the command was very good today.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 We won't see tercet. He will run and hide. He'll provide a lame excuse as to why he wasn't around.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 He'll provide a lame excuse as to why he wasn't around. My money's on "won $10,000 playing poker" or something in that neighbourhood....
tercet Verified Member Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 Naw i'm here didn't login for a few days, I did play alot of poker, sorry I lost 2k last night. I saw maybe 1/3 of this game, he looked alot better, didn't throw his 2 seam as much which is alot of problem. But lol Marlins, they are the worst offense in all of baseball. Your guys hatrid for me and delusion that SRF is good is funny.
tercet Verified Member Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 Where can I find the amount of 4 seam/2 seams that he throws every outting?

43211234 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 That just shows 4 seam hmm, I guess they haven't differentiated between his 2 and 4seam yet? That doesn't include his outing today. But he doesn't throw a 2-seam fastball. I just looked at Gameday and Pitch F/X classified everything as a 4-seam fastball.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Srf is a stud. He’s one of the few pitchers with the stuff to make a difference Let's not put the cart in front of the horse. All he is right now is potential with a s*** load of polish that's needs to be applied. The raw stuff is great, but without consistent command, he would be as maddening to watch (if not more) than Sanchez.

Sanchez never had this type of swing and miss stuff, even at his greatest. He also had/has, arguably, worse command.

He also had/has, arguably, worse command. I never compared their stuff, just that the lack of command in controlling it is frustrating as f*** and makes them very Jekyll and Hyde. Sanchez still had the stuff to be a front of the rotation starter with his great curve and average change. I agree that if both had good command that Foley would be the better pitcher in a hypothetical dream world.

SRF can have a couple years of ups and downs to find himself as we aren't going to compete the next two years. If he doesn't find it in 3 years and we can't find some more good pitching along with it, we can trade vlad and start the rebuild.

I agree that if both had good command that Foley would be the better pitcher in a hypothetical dream world. To be honest, though, Foley has always had far better control/command than Sanchez, so it's not really the same. Outside of 100 innings in 2015, Foley had always had a BB/9 at =< 4. Sanchez, though, averaged a BB/9 of 5 throughout his minors career.

Being better than garbage isn't a massive selling point. I get his last start makes everyone hopeful, because they finally saw a flash of his potential, and again, comparing Sanchez and SRF's stuff was not the intent of the post, so why people keep feeling the need to go back and rehash it is beyond me.

If he doesn't find it in 3 years and we can't find some more good pitching along with it, we can trade vlad and start the rebuild. It won't take 3 years. If there's no clear progression by mid to late 2019, there's not much point in trying to put a square peg in a round hole, and you turn him loose in the pen

Unless you're in a legit playoff race where him starting is hurting you. The Blue Jays should exhaust the option of keeping him as a starting pitcher. He could literally move to bullpen at any time

The rotation is likely Stroman, Sanchez, Boruki, SRF, FA and some depth.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 I would think that the Sanchez as a starter is going to be on a very short leash. I very strongly doubt it. If he's healthy, they'll give him every chance to regain his 2016 form.

Boras can complain all he wants, if Sanchez continues to be garbage he's not doing s*** to stop the team from doing whatever the hell they want with him.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 There’s like a five percent chance they move Sanchez to the bullpen next year. It’s just not gonna happen
