Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Have there been any rumors out there about BlueJays players who have passed through waivers in August? I assume the jays have tried to pass everyone through, did Donaldson or Estrada get through??? It's been my experience that August waivers are almost never reported until a trade happens.

They're revocable so you never hear about it until a trade is in the works/made.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Pretty good chance Estrada, Grandy, and Clippard will clear or have cleared. Just a matter of which pile of s*** the Jays will accept in return for them. JD is the one to watch for. He can't be put on waivers yet until he starts his rehab (I think) so we'll have to wait.

I think it would be announced by now if anyone doesn't clear.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Nick Tepesch traded to the Tigers for cash considerations.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Nick Tepesch traded to the Tigers for cash considerations. This is actually worth nothing that hes now out of the origination and we don't have to watch him make a spot start.
Todd Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I'm glad the jays traded this guy but my question is why in the world would the tigers want this guy.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I'm glad the jays traded this guy but my question is why in the world would the tigers want this guy. They're probably promoting someone and need him to eat innings for their minor league affiliates.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I'm glad the jays traded this guy but my question is why in the world would the tigers want this guy. They sent him to AA, must have been short on pitching depth in the high minors.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I've love to know how much money they got for him. Is he worth $100?

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 If you really want to lose a game in September to move up in the draft. This is your guy to put on the mound. Jays don't need help to move up in the draft
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Jays don't need help to move up in the draft I think you underestimate how bad some of the teams ahead of us in the draft are.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I think you underestimate how bad some of the teams ahead of us in the draft are. I have faith in this leadership that one spot won't mean much with draft talent. Their last draft was awesome.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I have faith in this leadership that one spot won't mean much with draft talent. Their last draft was awesome. One spot no, but getting into that top 5 would be nice. I don't see them catching any of those gong show teams though.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 One spot no, but getting into that top 5 would be nice. I don't see them catching any of those gong show teams though. I don't see us getting much worse/better than where we are so that probably puts us around pick 10-11.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 There are legitimately 9-10 teams as bad, if not worse than Toronto at the moment. It would be nice to get into the top 10 for the draft and maybe scoop someone up for the supplemental round via JD.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Yeah the JD comp pick will be after the 2nd round so it will be in the 70's probably. Bright side of that is it will increase the team's draft budget. Still rather have a couple of prospects though if some team is willing to ante up this month. I doubt it.
