Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Someone in the Twitter comments (yeah, I know) says the Cubs offered Zagunis, Steele, and Uelmen for Happ. I don't think they're referring to this rumor, so not what we'd be getting.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Yeah, that's not the same as close to being traded, Mark.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Why the f*** is Wilner suggesting Santana is a legit CFer?
BillSupra Verified Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Oh close to being traded - Steve Phillips
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Oh close to being traded - Steve Phillips What does Kenny Ken say?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Steve Phillips saying a deal for Oh is close. Could happen tonight.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Santana would be a great get, his power stroke should return, hitting in the Skybox
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Really interested to see what Oh gets in return. Having a great year with a cheap option for next year. Should get more than Britton at least.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 This would please me immensely. He's a guy I coveted when they had too many OFs after signing Cain, et al. UFA after 2022, IIRC.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 If the Jays get Santana does that change the calculus on keeping vs. trading Smoak? Not sure that Teo is ever going to be even an average OF, and that big body would be a nice target at 1B
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Really interested to see what Oh gets in return. Having a great year with a cheap option for next year. Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Osuna isn't getting any cheaper, has a huge cloud that will follow him for as long as he's in Toronto, has already had TJS and relievers come with the most inherent risk. His days as a Blue Jay are certainly numbered as I'm sure Atkins would love to move him if someone ponies up a decent return. What's decent? He should fetch a good haul, or f*** off, I say.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 really? I think people are underestimating what Britton pitching with his old velocity and a month of clean sheets is worth. According to this board Britton sucks now.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 According to this board Britton sucks now. I don't get that moving forward, he's coming off injury, is he a rental though? I forgazy'd.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 No worries Spanks i forgazy'd all the time myself. Yes is he a rental
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 really? I think people are underestimating what Britton pitching with his old velocity and a month of clean sheets is worth. This will be Oh’s second really good year in 3 years and he makes $2.5m next year. He’s not prime Britton, but Britton isn’t even prime Britton anymore and is a rental. I’d hope the Jays get more but reputation is on Britton’s side.

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Still would take Frazier for Happ, don't really think that is too high.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Still would take Frazier for Happ, don't really think that is too high. It's not close to too high. Especially given the pitchers who are available
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 25, 2018 Author Posted July 25, 2018 Guys, we're not getting Clint Frazier for a JA Happ rental.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Some of you, seemingly, will be very disappointed with the Happ return, even though we may yet end up with a pretty nice little haul for just three months of his services. I believe in Shatkins but they're not miracle workers, so get the thoughts of Frazier (and prospects of a similar ilk) out of your heads now because that is clearly a pipe dream; the market for rentals has changed almost entirely in the last couple of seasons. Couple that point with the fact that prospect valuation is finally more in line with where it always should've been - mostly thanks to analytics and the continued evolution of advanced metrics - and you'll see that Frazier for three months of Happ is absurd.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Deivi Garcia, Juan Then and Giovanny Gallegos
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Lol. My Korean friend is gonna be pissed.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Deivi Garcia, Juan Then and Giovanny GallegosThis would please me. Or a Roansy Contreras in there somewhere before he blows right the f*** up on the prospect scene. It's probably already too late for him, though. He's garnering tons of hype by the start.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
