There's a video of the alleged attack. I'm guessing 80 games.

Yeah, that's why I set it at 82, I wouldn't be surprised if they give him the rest of the season.

Hopefully they just suspend him for the rest of the season and let him start fresh next year. No reason to have it drag into next year.

Verdict is in suspended 75 games!

Ok I am fine with this. Won't drag into next season and he will be eligible to pitch for last couple weeks of September.

EDIT Oh wait nevermind its retroactive. Well hopefully the court stuff gets settled soon so he can come back and pitch in August.

He's back August 5th.

He's back August 4th because it's retroactive.

Straight back to closer's role, Shatkins don't care about off field, only on field value.

We don't really have a choice. We can't just punt him to the moon. Hes still a very talented relief pitcher that provides us on field value. Over time his trade value will build back up the further he is away from the scandal. And if he has success that's the time you trade him if anything.

Trading his this season would be incredibly stupid. We get no value from it. If they make the choice to release him or give him away I will be extremely pissed off.

If he did what he was charged with then I don't want him on the team regardless of his supposed value. There should not be a grey area with how you feel towards someone that hits women. I wouldn't care if he was the best player in the league and it sets the franchise back. IF he did what he is accused of he is as good as dead to me.

Keep him and trade him next July. No one will remember or care about his s*** in a year (unless he did something really bad).

Man going to be pennies on the dollar for him.

Which is exactly why he should get his second chance here. Not us dumping for nothing and watching him dominate for another team.

I agree with you but Social justice man. It doesn't matter that Osuna has agreed to go into a treatment program or anything. Judging from the twitter/reddit reactions all people care about is that he is off the team.

He won't be welcomed back.

Also depends on how teammates would accept him. Saying and doing the right things can go a long way. I don't think that will be the case here. I think the team will just part ways with him

Situations like these show the most extreme example of priority differentiation between front offices and ownership. Obviously, very few in the front office would be in favour of dumping him for his alleged crimes. On the other hand, with a publicly traded corporate owner, optics and maintaining brand reputation will always take precedence over things like "are we dumping a guy for ten cents on the dollar". I cant imagine any way that Osuna lasts here with Rogers owning the team. Baseball goes on and they'll find someone else to close games, they aren't going to take the heat with standing behind a woman-beater, not in a country like Canada where this s*** has taken precedence over almost everything.

Jays have had far worse "human beings" on the team. All you do is get him to say he made a mistake and enter domestic violence classes etc.. Then trade him next deadline when his value has rebounded.

Do people immediately think of Rogers if Osuna is on the Blue Jays? I'm not really sure how it effects the Rogers brand that much. I can't see people cancelling their cable bill because Osuna is back on the Jays.

Escobar and Reyes got dumped like hot potatoes, so looking at past actions I'd say it doesn't matter whether people do or not.
