Do people immediately think of Rogers if Osuna is on the Blue Jays? I'm not really sure how it effects the Rogers brand that much. I can't see people cancelling their cable bill because Osuna is back on the Jays.

Reality doesn't matter anymore. Everything is social media and the army of internet "social activists" will tear Rogers a new one if the allegations are true and they back a woman-beater, its just not worth the P.R nightmare. The CEO of Twitter just had to come out and apologize because he ate a Chic-fil-a sandwich, the issue being that Chic-fil-a has kind of made bad press due to apparent pro-Christian/anti-gay viewpoints, so any association with that company is like a no-go zone. Look at what Starbucks had to do because two black people in ONE of their multi-thousand or whatever locations were wrongly mistreated, they figuratively took it up the ass as if company policy dictated that all blacks that enter should have the police called on them. These companies are all walking on pins and needles, its comically pathetic how spineless they are when it comes to kneeling for these professional victims who control public opinion on the internet.

Rogers gets way more s*** for ticket prices going up and not spending. The New York Yankees traded for Chapman after the incident and it turned out just fine for them.

You'll get a few SJW complaining but it will be about the Blue Jays not Rogers.

Escobar and Reyes got dumped like hot potatoes, so looking at past actions I'd say it doesn't matter whether people do or not.

Reyes had the incident happen after he got traded from the Blue Jays so that's irrelevant to this discussion.

Kevin Pillar said the word "fag" and got a slap on the wrist and that was the end of it.

We have to ask ourselves... Is what Osuna did worse than what Matt Bush did?

Matt Bush did over 3 years in prison. It's a subtle difference when you serve time but it's a difference

No, but note that Bush was released before been given a 2nd chance with another team. IMO Osuna will be treated like Chapman i.e. be traded as soon as possible.

Actually the Jays picked him up after incidents 4 and 5. But then released him at incident 6.

personally IDGAF what he does off the field.....when he is on the field, the Jays have a pretty good chance of winning. too many crybabies now-a-days.

Yeah exactly, not really a comparable situation. Osuna (as he’s pleading not guilty) can say it was a moment of madness in an argument and be redeemed - though probably with a new team.

Good correlation between domestic assault and more violent crimes including murder. Not something to be taken lightly if that is what you are suggesting.

Wow. How stuck to your TV screen must you be to completely ignore the reality of someone assaulting another human being and calling the rest of us crybabies for showing empathy.

So if Osuna was caught kidnapping little kids, raping them in the back of his van, then dumping their bodies in the local river you'd be ok as long as he got his 35 saves a season for the Jays?

I think Osuna is an ******* and we will soon find out if her is a criminal. I also think he is a good pitcher.

At what point do criminals no longer get the privilege to come to Canada/USA, let alone play a sport for entertainment? If he shot her?, dropped her off a balcony? Threw her off a boat?

These guys for some reason are put on a pedestal. Most don't have the intelligence to forward their career by learning to speak English.

Why does a criminal get to play baseball in the United States but a strawberry picker without a criminal record has to be hoarded on a bus under gunpoint?

I want to be clear on this. So, I can't say to a waitress that she looks hot, but if I was a pro athlete, I could punch her in the head.

I'm of the ilk that say between the lines, don't care if he's a douche off field, but beating a woman is crossing the line, lets let due process move forward and he can have his day in court, but you can't say crybabies in an assault against a woman, that's coward ********.

I feel you've done your job here in attempt for reactions as a troll feeds from, f*** you.

Obviously we don't know any of the details regarding what went down and these situations aren't usually black and white. The guy is a great pitcher and a very valuable asset to the team. Assuming he f***ed up, we must remember that he is only 23 years old. It's no excuse, but I think he should be afforded a 2nd chance once he serves his suspension and does what the team asks of him. Shapiro and Atkins would be extremely foolish to cut bait with the kid when his value is at the lowest.... Unless the details turn out to be especially horrendous.

I'm pretty sure Shapiro and Atkins want him here, ownership is a whole new game.

Yeah, it's an interesting situation. Shapiro doesn't seem like the kinda guy who wants to have roster decisions dictated by ownership but at the same time Rogers apparently takes a zero tolerance stance with issues like these. I just don't see how the Jays can cut bait with one of their best assets while his value is the lowest .

Keep in mind, Rogers stuck by Pillar when he was caught on camera yelling a homophobic slur. Not trying to equate the 2 offenses, but it shows that they're not always exactly "zero tolerance".

My guess is they'll have Osuna back to build up his value and then deal him in the off season... Similar to what went down with Yunel

With what we know now, I'm pretty sure all of that Osuna missing time because of "anxiety" was a cover up of a reprimand for some other off-field issues.

On Prime Time Sports the host was saying that there was known issues surrounding him. I mean, the kid was pitching in the Mexican leagues when he was 17, the guy has ice running through his veins. I highly doubt anxiety would keep him off the mound.
