>You can say a lineup sucks even though it hasn't played yet today.

>You can't say a certain player sucks because of small sample size.

Pick one.

That's a false equivalency.

You can't say a certain player sucks because of a small sample size. You can say a lineup sucks based on half the players having a large sample size of sucking.

So today I learned that people here don't appreciate me s***ing on golden boy Travis. Got it.

Anthony Rizzo has a 0.107 batting average, 1 home run, 2 RBI. Does he suck too?

Hey our starters are tough too for a cold hitting Cleveland team - think positive!

I like what you're thinking

We can win all these games 1-0 or 2-1

That Kluber game is a tough matchup. Our #5 vs the top starter in the league. I like our matchups the other two games. Hopefully we can take 2 of 3.

After all of Travis's injury woes, I think it's perfectly fair to be worried about his offensive performance. Especially considering the nature of his injuries and how important those areas are to hitting.

I don't see Garcia as our #5. He's shown way better than that.

I'd probably go Stroman - Happ - Garcia - Sanchez - Estrada but they are all pretty close.

But yeah, I expect Kluber to destroy the Jays. However, I could see it very easily ending up a 1-0 or 2-1 type of game.

And yeah, we dodged a bullet. No Bauer and no Carrasco.

Friday nights game should be good to go and not as cold as it's been... Saturday and Sunday could very likely be PPD's. Who knows, that could change.

That lineup is gross. So we might score 8 runs tonight.

I will never understand why Gibbons decides to give off days right before an off day. I mean Donaldson couldn't have at least DH'ed

I know if I was Shatkins I would say WTF Gibby ????

Anyone else notice that Gibby seems to give a lot of "days off" to his regulars on the same night that Maile (or whoever the backup catcher is) is scheduled to start? Is there some philosophy there where he thinks you're better off having:

A. all your starters play together 5 or 6 days a week and 1 games with multiple bench players starting

v.

B. 8 starters and a bench player playing 3 or 4 days a week

My 'gut' tells me I prefer strategy B and if I know Martin is going to be sitting on Saturday, I'm giving JD or Smoak a day off on Friday - not Saturday.

I feel like we've seen this more than once (2-3 bench players starting the say day) over the past 2 years. Just an observation as god knows there are 100's of factors we aren't privy too.

I believe they said on a broadcast a couple of days ago that Gibby wanted to start staggering the off days for Travis and Martin so they didn't always sit on the same day, but just hasn't got a chance yet. Based on that I would say he prefers option B but is kind of stuck with option A right now. Possibly has strict orders from on high not to let either of them play 3 straight games no matter what. Then the Donaldson rest day yesterday just happened to coincide with Travis and Martins day off, so that was just bad luck

I hear you, but staggering them seems pretty easy...just give Travis 2 days off in a row and start Solarte at 2nd. I mean you don't need to try hard to find a reason to give Travis an extra day off right now.

I think he could have easily avoided last nights disgraceful lineup simply by putting Martin at third. Apparently Donaldson was completely unavailable last night otherwise he would of pinch hit. Gift really shouldn't be starting any game especially at second base.

I'm fine with playing Martin and Travis 2 days on and 1 day off. But it can't be at the same time anymore.

Grichuk 3 for 39 on the season despite having one of the highest rates of hard hit balls in the majors

This was just told to. Gibby in an interview on MLB Network

According to Fangraphs he has a career low hard hit % of 30.8%.

Which is good for 122nd in the majors this season.. Wonder where this guy got his info from.

2 weeks in to the season and people are bashing Grichuk. Its only been 2 weeks, when the guys heats up he is going to be an excellent contributor.

Yeah he shouldn't be this bad. He'll get it going.

It would be easy to do, just hold Travis out tomorrow against Kluber and the rest schedules itself. If you dont start the stagger now, the only way it would ever happen is due to injury to one of them
