Just seems like the Yankees always win. They do that and then possibly sign Machado? That would be a pretty solid team top to bottom.

Lineup

1. Gardner April, Didi SS when he's back from TJS

2. Machado 3B

3. Stanton OF/DH

4. Judge OF

5. Sanchez C

6. Torres 2B

7. ?

8. Voit 1B

9. Gardner/Hicks

Starting rotation:

1. Severino

2. Syndergaard

3. Paxton

4. Tanaka

5. Gray or Sabbathia, the other is BP long man

Bullpen:

Probably best in the league again whether they re sign some of the FA guys or not

Bench:

Ellsbury, Wade, Bird, Frazier, backup catcher?

They know what they are doing plus big budget...quite a combo. Not gonna lie i'm jealous.

Putting aside my own personal biases, this trade seems pretty legit:

to Mets: JT Realmuto

to Yankees: Noah Syndergaard

to Marlins: Miguel Andujar & Clint Frazier

The Mets would have to turn around and sign some depth SP like JA Happ, but it's all within the real of possibility value-wise.

This type of trade would be amazing for baseball.

Holy f*** that's quite a team, especially if Sanchez bounces back.

The Yankees haven't had a decent 5 man rotation in quite some time

The thought of them acquiring just that, and keeping their killer bullpen and keeping or even improving their good offense is terrifying

Remember when the Mets built a rotation around Harvey, Thor, deGrom, Niese + Wheeler?

Pitchers are so f'ing volatile that I'm actually happy to see them trading position players to add to their rotation.

The White Sox moving futures to supplement the result of their failed rebuild seems ill advised.

Nova has a history of good first halfs. He could still be moved again for the White Sox. $9.2M in his last year of his contract pretty much he isn't going to have great prospect value IMO

Andujar will end up at 1B very soon. How the hell is he going to get them Thor? These teams man...

Cashman gets elite talent while giving up nothing. That's been the case for years and I still don't know why.

Andujar, Frazier + isn't nothing?

Andujar is a first basemen playing third. If he's the center piece in getting 3 years of Thor, then yeah, that's pretty damn lopsided.

considering it's Syndergaard's former agent trading him, I would be a little nervous as well. I think Andujar could eventually be tried out in RF as well. He's got a huge arm. But for the Marlins he'll be 3B for a few years regardless and they can hope his footwork improves.

Agreed

Buyer beware

Only 184 IP over the past two seasons combined

I suppose the Yankees know they'll have rotation depth to compensate if he misses more time, and few starters are as impactful when they're at their best. And he's 26 years old with 3 more years of team control. So you consider all of that.

Andujar is already red lining his value. He has no ceiling because he doesn't walk or play defense. He had a huge delta in WOBA vs. his XWOBA because of Yankee Stadium.

His bat is more like Dickerson or Eddie Rosario unless he suddenly learns to walk. That type of bat at 1B has a very low ceiling.

Except for Dickerson sacrificed power to cut down his K's. Andujar has shown (even on the road) that he can make contact and hard contact. I don't see him as much more than a 120 wRC+ guy and Eddie Rosario is a pretty good comp for him...but 5 years of Eddie Rosario is really nice to have.

to Mets: JT Realmuto @ Zac Gallen

to Marlins: Miguel Andujar, Clint Frazier @ Jonathan Loisaiga

This seems more like the deal with these 3 teams. IMO

3/50 for Cutch.

Players getting paid again. MLBPA should be happy.

Good players are getting paid, which Cutch despite not being in his prime still is. I wonder if the deal is evenly spread out or it's front/back loaded.

You guys are selling Andujar short, as Hurl said if he moves off 3rd he can go to the OF as his arm plays, adding in Clint Frazier and an MLB ready arm in Loaisiga is a decent return, hardly lopsided.

This absolutely does not warrant an exclamation mark.

But didn't it seem just slightly more exciting, if only for a brief moment in time?

Last two off seasons it seemed like no one was getting paid. I'm liking the bigger money being thrown around now. Players deserve it and it is good for the game.

Save for 1B and DH's, not named Nelly Cruz... :P
