P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2018 Author Posted May 24, 2018 My over-tired and random parting thought of the night is this: Mike Trout has walked 28 times in his last 98 PA, so why isn't he sponsored by someone like Fitbit? He's clearly the poster boy for high step counts. Seems mutually beneficial. Unrelated note: Mike Trout is incredi-balls. Aaaaand goodnight, friends.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 He picked up the Astros clubhouse cheat tricks readily. Why baseball allows Houston this advantage is a mystery (Mike Scott was the most blatant and scot-free) Scott was scuffing balls. Which BTW does not affect spin rate. If that's the apparent advantage that Houston pitchers are having.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Thanks to new data, aren't hitting coaches trying to get higher launch angles from players bats by altering swing planes slightly? Could that not be a contributor?

He'd have his starters go 300 innings again if he could.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 The Astros need to stop wasting McHugh in unimportant innings. You could make an argument that he's their best reliever. They need to either make him a starter (with them or someone else), or give him higher leverage innings in the pen.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Hanley Ramirez gets DFA'd. Not surprising, as he is in the midst of his second consecutive negative WAR season.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Hanley Ramirez gets DFA'd. Not surprising, as he is in the midst of his second consecutive negative WAR season. I thought it could be Swihart but Hanley had a vesting option for next season so it was the right move. Still, the money owed to him is roughly the same as what we owe to Kendrys over the next two years.
