Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Travis has options folks, you don't just kick assets into the sun when you don't have to. Probably not, but I think a lot of people would feel better in the short term if they did.

Meant to say cut the fat from the 25-man. Unless he looks drastically different in ST, Travis shouldn't be on the 25-man to start next season, but he's the kind of 40-man depth that could be important as the season goes on.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Suck it Bannister you salty bitch. Bannister is a POS, so glad the Jays were able to beat him twice in the playoffs before he got deservedly canned.

Oh wow, I thought for sure he was out of options. He was in the minors in 2015 and 2017 for rehab assignments only. We only used options in 2016 and 2018. So next year is his last kick at the can. I get to keep my avatar for a bit longer

I knew he was having a bad year but I just checked and he has a -3 WAR. He's got 4 years and 92 million left on his deal after this year too.

"No Trade: Limited Other Notes: Will be paid $17,000,000 annually throughout length of contract; $3,500,000 from 2023 to 2032; $1,400,000 from 2033-2037" What a f***ing mess of a contract.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Remember when casual Jays fans on Twitter wanted the Jays to sign Davis because of how deadly he'd be in the lineup with Bats, Edwin, and JD? Good times.

Good times. While it is hilarious how that contract is turning out a) many on here would have been good with Davis at the right price. As soon as that contract was announced I don't remember anyone being in favour of it. no one could have really foreseen Davis turning into the worst player ever.

Yeah no one could have expected him to be this bad, but old man skills in his 30's in the post PED era? If he was going to be good during the life of a contract, it def wasn't going to be for long.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Cleveland just became the 1st team ever to have 4 SP each record 200 Ks in a season. A touch surprising actually. Would've thought something like this would've happened in the old era where starters went 350 innings a season.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 A touch surprising actually. Would've thought something like this would've happened in the old era where starters went 350 innings a season. Yeah, but back then they didn't need 4 SP...
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 All four of those Cleveland pitchers with 200 K's were acquired in trades as well. As much as I hate Cleveland for being like the 6th best team in the AL and yet handed a playoff spot because of their division, they've done well with development the last few years.
